I'll certainly look forward to it David. Our daughter has another tournament out there in November. Why on earth they want to play soccer in November is beyond me; there'll probably be snow on the ground by then.

Always a pleasure to visit with another car person, glad I could help.

Darrell at Sport Auto was a wonderful host and allowed Santini and family all the time to enjoy the scenery. It was great to see wife and daughter smiling as much as dad.

Next time you are in town and have more time we will do some driving. Sorry we couldn't make it happen this time.

Congratulations on winning the tournament !!

Thanks SO much David C. for your hospitality this weekend, and for introducing us to the nice folks at Sport Auto. It was literally a dream come true to finally be able to at least SIT in not just one, but 3 Ferraris! My daughter was so excited to sit in that $280k Murcielago too. (BTW, her team won the soccer tournament, so that was icing on the cake!) :-)

I'm still grinning from ear to ear after sitting in my dream car!!!

Thanks again. I hope I can someday repay the favor. Upload

My wife will be with me Will, so no chance of that happening. ;)

I went to my local dealership to "browse" and left with a car. Don't take your checkbook, Santini.

Very kind of you to offer David. I'll PM you my phone/email.

BTW, I spoke with "Jim" at Sport Auto yesterday. He said they're open Saturday until 5(?)...unless he forgot about the festival? They have a nice 308GTS in their inventory that I'd like to check out.

Thanks again. Looking forward to meeting you.

Santini,

I live in G'boro and know most of the guys at both dealers. I understand some of the others comments. Personally I have been treated fine at both places.

I would be happy to help with your tour of one or both. As of today I am planning on staying in town this weekend and can try to arrange meeting you. My 2 boys like seeing the cars also ( age 3 & 5 ).

E-mail me your anticipated schedule and we can exchange phone numbers of the board. Let me know either way.

P.S. I think Sport Auto may be closed Saturday (I can check ), Car festival in Winston-Salem and Lambo is the honored marque this year. Pretty big event with lots of cars of all European makes.

Thanks for the post m.y. Good advice. I'll wear my Ferrari hat; I'm sure that'll impress 'em. (note to self: dust off Ferrari hat for this weekend...) :-)

Bob: didn't know about the Lambo dealer. We'll definitely pay them a visit too. Thanks for the tip. My daughter, who's only 11, absolutely loves Lamborghinis. I'll surprise her with that.

After FCI, make a 15 minute drive to Sport Auto. Not an authorized F-car dealer but they will have several and they are The Lamorghini dealer.

Santini,

I visited them last year while on Business in Greensboro. I just walked in and told the guy I liked to visit other dealers when I travel. I told him up front that I did not own one YET. I also asked if they had any shirts for sale with the dealer name on it. And that I liked wearing different dealer shirts when I go to FCA and other Ferrari related events. I was wearing my Maranello Sports shirt from the dealer in Toronto, so I looked the part.

He took me back in the back and found me a shirt and gave it to me. A polo at that. I told him I would be glad to pay for it and he said it was free advertising.

I browsed around a few minutes and left. By far the best treatment I have had in a dealership by just walking in off the street. They are also a big Pcar dealer. I think they had about 8 Fcars inside and some Masers. All the Pcars were outside.

I forget the guy's name, but he was not a suit wearing sales guy - He must have been someone higher up the chain.

Just act the part and you should be OK.

:-)

...on Saturday, in-between my daughter's soccer games (tournament weekend). It'll be my first visit to a Ferrari dealership and I'm getting excited about it. Are they generally pretty cool about folks who just want to look, maybe take a few pictures or should I prepare to do a little ass-kissing?
