I asked the sales manager at Miller Motor cars when the 360 was first introduced.. He explained, that a GTS version wouldn't work aesthetically with the looks and style of the 360, the way the 348 and 355 did.. so Ferrari opted to not introduce one.. |

the spider and the coupe are two very different cars. the only way a gts would have worked would have to built up a spider into a gts. previous to the 360, ferrari just reworked (through bracing of the chassis) the coupe into spider and targa from. the aluminum chassis and structure do not allow for this as it would affect structural rigidity. a gts form just isn't a practical "redesign" based on demand for the spider and little demand for a targa. it is a matter of economics. |

"they didn't make a gts due to the aluminum chassis and body. a gts version wouldn't be structurally sound." Then "Then why does the spider work?" Exactly! If the spider is structurally sound, so would be a GTS. |

Go to cavallino models. They have a model of one. Not so nice if you ask me -- and I generally hate spiders over targas! Luke. |

Can anybody photo-shop a 360GTS ? I'd like to see what it looks like? Rounded edges like this maybe? |

Also, I beleive that the 360 is the only car of the 3X8 variants that had two separate designs: one for the coupe and one for the spider. As far as I know, all the other cars were designed as a coupe and then modified as a targa or Spider. This could be why: perhaps Ferrari didn't want to have a targa that was not designed from the floor up as a targa. Obviously, they didn't want a spider that wasn't designed as a spider from the floor up.... Just my 0.02 |

they didn't make a gts due to the aluminum chassis and body. a gts version wouldn't be structurally sound. the sunroof is trapaziodal in shape and rather small, it was the only ferrari could give the "open air" feel on the coupe. |

I saw the sunroof for the 360. It is like a triangle that comes off. Not a true sunroof. |

You can get a factory sunroof for a 360. I saw it in person when my 550 went in for the major. Looked...goofy, but supposedly it works well? There are clips / proper holder for it behind the seats. --Dan |

Perhaps the shape of the top, and the shape of the interior and front storage compartment made it impossible to store a GTS top while using the car. |

Ze I agree with you. In my opinion the gts format suits the ferrari particularly well. My 328 gts is a true convertible and looks so sharp with the t-top on. I am not so crazy on how the 355 and 360 look with the top up. It is too much of a compromise. I even saw a 456 gt targa in Miami Beach. Anyone know whose it is? |

Because a GTS is still a true coup with the top on and a very decent convertible with the top off ? Spiders soft tops scare people off in some countries due to vulnerability, and the soft tops reliability over time may not be good ? Wondering if Ferrari will have to follow the foldable hard top trend set by Mercedes. |

Once the spyders were (re)introduced with the 348, the GTS numbers really dropped off. The 355 GTS seems to be a rarity. With Ferrari selling everything they make and the spyders handling the open-air demand, why bother with another bodystyle? |

Why didnt ferrari make a 360GTS??. The 308/328 series included GTS/GTB. The 348/355 series included GTB/GTS/spider. The 360 so far has had only GTB/spider. Anyone?, Anyone? Bueller?? |
