Schumacher just qualified 14th. Having seen his performance this season, I suspect it's all part of the plot. He stays cool and calculated and picks them off slowly but surely in the race, methodically applying pressure and forcing others to make mistakes. It is somewhat damp, so I think he was a little cautious too. And saving fuel now means more options in the early part of the race? Oooooh! Ralph Schumacher spun out and didn't qualify! Seems like he and Trulli will be starting from pit lane. Barrichello on pole. Williams on 2nd. All Toyota on 2nd row.

It's Diwali season in the Indian community...the festival of Diwali is also known as the festival of lights and firecrackers, and since it commemorates the victory of good over evil, it is a very auspicious occasion with lots of partying and gambling. As you can imagine, it's quite a big deal, and I have been dutifully going to my friends' parties the entire week. Tonight however, is the Japanese GP qualifying...I have been wracking my brains all day to think up an excuse to stay home since my Tivo isn't working. Well, much BS later, I am sat in front of the idiot box, watching the qualifying right now...Fisichella fastest so far. Button screaming around with full surround effect. It's the simple things in life that give the most pleasure. Heh.

Hey guys, I wanted to pass this along to anyone who's interested. See below: Matt Parvis has graciously invited us to his home to watch the Japanese GP. Let's pray for good weather (in DC) and rain in Japan to allow MS to finish off yet another championship. Please send an RSVP to Matt at [email protected] or give him a call at the number below in the details section of this email. Seeya Sunday! Lashdeep ******************DETAILS******************** Alright then, here is the info and issues for this weekend. Race: Tape delay for viewing. (The race starts at 1:00 in the morning on Sunday, and while I might be up for that, I don't think Lindsay would be.) Someone will need to record and bring a copy, seeing as I have yet to get the TV, cable box, and VCR to work together. Playing tapes works fine, I just can't get it to record. Maybe we should have two tapes? Time: Start time 11:30-12:00, and watch the race around 1:00ish. Give people time to be late. Sustanance: Food and beverages will be provided, if anyone wants something special they can bring it. Pre-race entertainment: Slot cars, video games, and making fun of Lashdeep about JV. Parking: Lindsay and I, and our friends and family have never had any trouble with our cars, however, we haven't ever parked a Ferrari out front either. There are two spots right in front of the townhouse that Lindsay and I park in, so, if anyone is bringing anything they are worried about let me know and I will make room. Otherwise, the best place to park is out on Hospital Drive.(More info with the directions.) Space: Jim, you have been over, and seen where the TV is, so if you think it is a good idea to limit the invites that is fine. Looking at the turnout of other viewings though, I don't think it will be too much of a problem to invite the normal list, and that is fine with me. Cats: This might be a biggy for some people. We do have three cats. They will be locked up, but for people who are allergic it can be a problem. We will do our best to vacuum and keep the house open, and that usually helps for most people. Several of our friends are allergic to cats and they do okay. Fans: BMW Williams fans are welcome, so are Mercedes fans, I just can't garantee their saftey. Directions: For Map Questers the address is 7802 Foxfarm Lane, Glen Burnie, MD, 21061. From PG, Montgomery, or Howard take 295 or 95 North to Rt 100 East. After you cross Rt 97 the next exit is Oakwood Road. Follow that exit. Turn right onto Oakwood and get all the way over to the left to make the first left onto Hospital Drive. Follow Hospital to the first left that is not into a construction site, Foxchase Road, turn in there then make an immediate right onto Foxfarm Lane. The house is the second one in on the right side. The best place to park is probably along Hospital Drive behind the house. You know how people are with their parking spaces. From the north, take the Baltimore Beltway around to Rt 97 South. Follow 97 south to 100 east, and follow the above directions. If I have forgotten any important details let me know. My cell is 443-695-5669. Matt |
