Once again today no word back from baystate. It looks like it is going to be a challenge for me to get some seat time in a 348. I e-mailed a rental outfit in Mass. about a month ago asking if they would be able to get a 348 or 355 available for a rental and never heard back from them either. In the past I almost always have gotten replies back from dealers whom I have e-mailed and yes some were for high end cars. |

I e-mailed them to set up an appointment but haven't heard back from them. Maybe they are off for Columbus day. |

Doody, I know. They billed 2 hours for the belt job, no tensioners, no bearings, no seals. The funny part of it is the work order was from a foreign speciality shop(eg, Mazda, toyota, etc). I think that he thought he was working on a Mazda 626! LOL! Naples never said a word, other than "yes, the 30k has been done". ..Okaay |

I have been by there several time and there cars seem to be very clean. I think that their specialty is Corvettes and Vipers. I see a Ferrari there once in a while. |

Prior to buying my 1998 Spider at a FNA Dealer I almost consumated a deal with Naples Motorsport. I was interested in a 1998 spider with 9K on the clock. I was told all along that the 30K engine out service was completed. When I received a copy of the work order, I found several red flags on the invoice (it was serviced by a local shop, not Naples Motorsport as they do not do any mechanical work). I read the work order and the total bill was $900.00??? That included some misc. repairs as well. Upon closer inspection the "shop" billed $190 for the belts (on the low side but believable). However, on the labor for the timing belt they charged 2 hours??? WTF? That was obviously bogus. Who is really going to do belts on a 355 for $190 labor??Furthermore they used Castrol 20/50 in the oil change versus Shell Helix or Mobil 1. I was the only one that thought that this was weird. Everyone else (at Naples) said that the 30K was done and did not find anything strange about their work order (that they authorized). I think that they do have some pretty clean cars. I think that they are a better car dealer than most, but buyer beware, they are still a car dealer none the less. You really have to treat it with due diligence and look at each car on a case by case basis. |

I used to date the daughter of the owner of that place - the "money guy" (I believe Todd is the manager, this other guy was the one who financed the place). They have a good selection of cars. Overall I think they are better than most other dealers. I also think they are better now than they used to be. My experience is from a while ago. First problem, they seem to overprice a bit. I was looking at almost-new Corvettes back in 96 or so, and they were a good 3-4k over anyone else. Gave me the BS sales pitch justifying their price when I knew the market better than they did. Kinda felt like they were presuming I was a moron and would pay $1k less than MSRP for a 2 year old car with 5k miles on it, and the new C5's were just coming out. Second problem, they used to claim they only bought the "cream of the crop" in cars. They would always sell this aspect when they were justifying their prices. But a friend of mine and a guy I drag raced with had a ZR-1 that he used to absolutely BEAT on 3 times a week at the track. Poweshifted it every gear, burnouts, hard launches, redline shifts every time, etc, etc. He told me he traded it to them. When I saw it there i asked and was told an older guy traded it on a new Vette and this old guy barely revved it up, etc. I dont like being lied to, left a bad taste in my mouth. Third problem, I was looking at Vipers, called 'em up telling them I wanted a 98 (at the time, brand new). They tried to sell me HARD on a 96 that had some problems. They kept glossing over the problems... "yeah yeah we'll fix it lets talk price". Very hard sell, very uninterested in my position as a customer. Left a real bad taste. After strike 3, decided never to go back. I am pretty close to a lot of the local racer guys, and I had heard later that the 96 Viper they were selling hard to me ended up coming back. They called me to see if I was interested, which I thought was funny since it was about 3 months later and I had already bought one new. They said the guy that bought it threw out his back and had to "bring the car back". I talked to some of the locals later and they told me (dunno how true it is) that it was one of the local racers that bought the car, found out the odo had been rolled back, and demanded they take it back, and eventually they did. I *thought* when they first showed it to me it had 9500 miles, and during the call the guy told me 7500 miles. Could have been a typo or maybe he mis-spoke, but he was very quick to affirm they had another identical car with more miles I must have been thinking of (but I used to drive by every day on my way to the office and never saw this other car). Take it for what it's worth. I know other guys who are very happy with them, and I know Todd moved to the FL location, so things may have changed around there since I frequented the place which was about 4-5 years ago. |

Taek, I always call ahead and make an appointment when I want to look at a car, and I make sure I can test drive the car w/o buying or leaving a deposit. I also bring a financial statement with me proving I can afford to buy the car. If a dealer won't let me test drive the car w/o a deposit then I won't bother with them. |

I had a horrible experience there. Prior to moving to Miami I was interested in a Lotus they had. When I asked for a test drive they told me I had to buy the car outright. If I didn't like it they had a no questions asked return policy. Their philosophy seemed to make a lot of sense to them but I found it to be ridiculous. I suggest you show up to the dealership with a nice car to even get their attention. I drove up in my college buddy's Z3 and got the cold shoulder. I was young and I'm guessing they didn't think I could afford it and was looking for a joy ride. Maybe their attitude has since changed, this was about six years ago, but I'd never buy anything from them. There are too many other reputable and good people and businesses out there to keep feeding the crappy ones. Cheers |

I used to go there quite often- its in malden- kinda ghetto location and a pain to get to - but all there cars looked nice and seem reasonably priced i looked at a few nsx's there- and they were nothing but curtious to me- my ex girlfirend loved the place- they would let her sit in pretty much anything they had - lambos, loti, ferraris they have had some pretty unique cars as well i.e. donald trumps tour du france blue on popcorn diablo roadster all in all they seem reasonable - hell the esprit v8 they had in even came with their own warranty! its owned by the guy that runs the naples shop- but he lives in FL so the bay state store is managed by some pretty young guys - knowledgable none the less according to them most of their cars come in off of trade- they seem to have some pretty loyal clientel - and they shp cars between the to locations depending on where they think it will sell better btw- what are you looking at
