Leatherique rocks. Just started working on my Esprit's interior with it. Fine hides need the correct cleaners/oils. James |

Coachi This is 100% true. Also, the American Medical Assoc. suggests that you crack a window when you park your car in the garage. This is to let all the "bad" air out of the car. The AMA has found that the materials used in cars can produce breathing problems in some people. |

Windshield hazing can occur from emulsifiers in silicone based treatment products. I know you do not use armorall on your dash, but check the labels... OK to use something like 303 with UV protection. What is interesting is that the emulsifers move toward the heat (window). A freind had that problem but the dash was only treated with Leatherique (a great product). Turns out he did use armorall on the headliner (prosche) and it drew to the windows. Cleaned the headliner and problem fixed. So make sure no armorall anywhere in the inside of the car (steering wheel, trim, etc) and use silicone free products on the inside.

As I continue to search for a 550 Maranello, I spoke with an owner who seemed quite knowledgable about cosmetics..he told me he always placed a cover (towel..blanket) on his dash if he had to park the car for some time with the sun shining. He said the sun heats the leather dash and an oil slowly evaporates and coats the inside of the windshield. I have noticed that I have had to work real hard to get rid of that oily film on my cars...never dawned on me that it was coming from the dash...any one else agree? |
