Dennis. The first 308 that I ever,"tried on for size" was like that ,too. But,in my car,I fit fine, and am 6'2" tall. Actually, though, with the top on,I have to duck my head to the side when entering. But,once I am in,everything is fine, and my head doesn't even touch the inside of the top. Nuff said. Agree that a 348/355 are roomier.

Saw an episode of MTV "cribs" today, showcasing "Shaq". He has a 355 spider and a 360 spider. He fit into both of them fine,but...said that the top ALWAYS stays down on these cars to fit his seven foot self into them. I didn't notice if his leg was into the steering wheel or not.

I've owned both a 328 and a 348. No comparison in the interior room. 348 much more comfortable and larger.

Generally, there is a LOT more room in a 348. Specifically, it depends on how you're put together. If you have a long torso and/or a big head (i.e., if more of your height is from the waist up), you will NOT fit well into a 308/328. I'm 6'3", and could not fit into a 308/328 without tilting my head to the side. And that was even with sliding the seat bottom forward so I could tilt back the seat back. This meant, of course, a longish reach to the steering wheel, and my legs were cramped against the dash.

The 348 is much better in this regard, though still far from perfect.

FWIW, the 355 and 348 have the same amount of head room as each other, but the 355 is more comfortable because there is a center console in a 348, whereas in the 355, there is empty space between where the radio fits and where the center tunnel panel ends. This means that the driver has room to widen his stance, moving his right shin into that empty space, whereas on the 348 the right shin is pressed up hard against the center console (where the bin is).

vty,

James. When I bought my 308,I was (am)6'2",and was about 250#. But,I worked out at the gym everyday,so it wasn't a "fat" 250. But,I was in a really bad car accident after that, and cannot work out at the gym anymore. Actually, there's alot of things that I can't do anymore. But,so far, driving my Ferrari isn't one of them. But,I've ballooned up to just over 300#,and still fit nicely in my car, though the "ingress" and "degress" aren't as graceful! I do have long legs, and when I am sitting in my car,my knee ends up right between the steering wheel and the shifter,(or,"gear selector",as we are discussing Ferrari!) I can drive the car comfortably, and safely without any problem. But,can see that there is ALOT of room, past the pedals,in the footwell. So,might look into seeing about getting the pedals moved down a little. And,you can adjust the steering wheel column a little bit, too. Just a couple of bolts. Also, can just put in a shorter shift lever. Ofcourse,Ferrari-not one of those Hurst shifters with the big 'T" handle,or 8 ball on it.(Or big Skull!) So,there are some options for us big guys. I always figured that there are alot of big and tall Football, and Basketball players that have Ferrari's and other exotics, and they fit. Also, one last thing. In my car,I have the seat all the way down, and all the way back. So,I cannot store the targa top behind the seat. But,thats never been an issue. Good Luck!

Would a 348 have more interior/leg room than a 308? I sat in a 308 and found the seating possition a bit off. I don't think I could drive one comfortably, as my tree-trunks for legs were crowding the gated shifter. I think it was the seats and the steering wheel position. I'm a big guy, but I fit (aka: strap into) a lotus esprit. I'm hopeing other F-cars have a bit more room for larger people...

James
