One thing that strikes me is that the car was sold at auction (typically, not a good way for a dealer to make money) from CA to FL. Florida is one of those states where title washing is easy (salvage titles, etc.). Be careful. There is a lot of absolute trash for sale in Florida.

Appears to look OK from the photo's. The thing under the dash is not stock, don't know what it is.

It says the 30K was done, but the initial description says its an automatic..must be typo.

Re: Commercial vehicle - 2 things come to mind, one is Don L (stay away) or it could have been a rental. Next to the FLL Airport there was an exotic rental biz who folded and they had a yellow spider. That could be verified by Tim Standford who did all the service on their cars.

Quote - '26K miles in 8 years is only 3,250 miles per year.'

Paul as you say, this is not high mileage, perhaps Fchat members in the US should do some research on the mileage done in continental Fcars. I did a search on a Swiss site in this week and saw many 98 onwards cars with 50-60k miles on. This is much better IMHO that a 8-10 year old car with 7 owners and 4000 miles. Even in the UK (looked today at the maranello site) there are 360's with anything from 5-7 owners with sub 5k miles on - what gives????

Ok RANT over...

All hail to Schumy for Sunday, may the Forza be with him.

What does: "This 1995 FERRARI F355 SPIDER (ZFFPR48A8S0102742) has had no severe accidents"

really mean?

I know that there is at least 1 state and maybe more that do not disclose salvage or rebuilt titles. I think it may be MO but I could be wrong.
In other words if you bought a car and it had a salvage title and registered it in MO (or whatever state does not disclose title status) than when you rec. the title back it would be in "clean" status. The only reason I bring this up is that I noticed in the carfax it had been through a few states, namely MO.

For a while I saw DonL leasing trying to sell a yellow 355 like this back several months... Could this be the car?

Anyone would have to eyeball the car themselves.
I am curious about the Florida owner and it being registered as a commercial vehicle. I do know someone from FT. Lauderdale who HAD the same car and maybe had it registered through his business.

It says that the second owner came from Florida. If anyone is interested and you can find out who the owner was, let me know. Maybe I know the person and car. Does Carfax offer that info?

The major was done on it I believe. I've noticed the car on eBay as well and couldn't figure out the pricing scheme. Although one major note is that it seems to have a been registered as a commercial vehicle at some point...so a rental? Which might make sense out of that $11.5K major. But if everything's taken care of, would it still be a bad deal? Wonder if it's got paint work done as well.

I read the info. Nothing jumps out to me except if you look at the "Odometer Rollback Check" section, there is a typo for the 12/30/99 mileage check. Looks clean from the pictures, but looks can be decieving. What about the service records? What will it cost for a 30K service? Where is the car located? Could not read the license plate.

Looks like higher than average mileage, plus the fact that I think many times ebay cars don't get the average market price, since many buyers- as much info as they get on the car- actually don't go to see it before bidding. That must factor into the average price on ebay being a little less than someone seeing a car in person in some cases.

That said, I also agree with Doody- this car could need a major service which would discount the price. From the pictures, I see the climate control area is bubbling up, although the leather dash looks OK in the pictures.

A side question I have: Is that a storage box under the radio? Is this a factory option on the 355's or aftermarket?

when was the major done? $11,500 for a major is big money - there must have been numerous other problems. might be a well-sorted mileage car.

they should include some text about the condition of the car. i'll bet the interior condition is "mileage appropriate".

26K miles on a 1995 doesn't put it high on the desirability lists. i bet they took it on trade at something horrible like $70K or so. make 'em an offer! and get a PPI.

doody.

I've seen this 355 Spyder on Ebay several times, and it has never sold. Despite being seemingly priced under the market. Reading through the carfax included in the ad, no big flags besides multiple owners jumped out. Seller's feedback looks good also. Yellow/black color combo should be popular as well. What is wrong with this car that I'm missing? Even if it needs service it would be priced under the market.

Anybody have any comments or experience with this one?
