Great post John... When I had found this site over a year ago I couldn't tell the difference between a 308 and a 328 but now I pretty much know how to spot the diffenerences in all new models and starting to get a firm hold of the vintage models. This site is great for the tech info and the general Ferrai info. The friends I have made on here are great in every way. I have never met them in person yet but hopefully some day in the near future I will meet them in person.

As always Thanks goes out to Rob for a GREAT site.

I thought that it was standard operating procedure to hijack threads here. hehehe

Don't think I have ever seen a post that didn't end up hijacked. ;-)

I agree with John. I am new to the board, but not to Ferrari, and have found tremendous amounts of useful information. I have never, once, been insulted. I try to post only if I can add value or factual information. Things like FerrariChat are good for the marque, the drivers/owners, and the enthusiasts. Keep up the great work guys!

True, true.

I don't think I could have had the courage to take the plunge without knowing there was a helpful community out there to counter my ignorance. For that, I am grateful. :-)

With all the negativity that has been going on lately, I just wanted to say that all and all I have been so thrilled to have found this site.

I started my journey to Ferrari ownership about 13 yrs ago while I was having my car worked on at a import car shop. While waiting for them to wrap up my service, I walked out back and in the middle of various mercedes, porsches, and jags, sat the car I had dreamed of every since I knew what a car was, I bright RED FERRARI 308 !!
It was the only car I had ever walked up to and got goosebumps as I touched it. I walked around it three or four times, and then and there made a promise to myself, that one day, no matter the price or work it would take, I would some day own a Ferrari.
Well after many years of dreaming and longing I am finally in a position to make this dream a reality, so I started my search. Since I live in the middle of nowhere now (N. Alabama) I had no exotic dealerships near me so I turned to the grand ole' internet. After checking the obivous places like Hemmings and such, I came across a link for a site, WWW.FerrariChat.com
After a couple of days browsing and getting aquainted with the site, I have to say that the amount of knowlege I have gained over the last 8 months has been immeasurable. When I first came around I didn't know the difference between a 355 and the Enzo. So I have, like many who first start to quench (sp?) their thirst for these magnific cars made stupid post, "asking for info on, the dreaded, "5,000" thousand mile service instead of the "15,000" plus others I'm sure.
I have never been truly "attacked for my ignorance" like some here claim.
But I can say that the knowlege and helpfulness of people like, Pat, Bruce,Frank, WilliamH, Martin, Rob,
Mike C., and everyone one else who truly know and love these cars, has kept me from running out and making a 20,000 or 30,000 dollar mistake, and I can not be thankful enough.........
Through this site not only have I saved and TON of money but also have learned why I love these Cars so much, I have now seen in person ever model made since 1975 (except a F50 and an Enzo)
and have even gotten to not only ride in but drive one (thanks Mike) of these
AWESOME MACHINES............

FORZA FERRARI
John
