The power from the headunit only won't do especially with the loud engine noise. Upgrade the speakers and use a clean output amp, if you want to go one step up remove the plate under the driverside upperwall and put a sub in front for a bandpass effect, you'll be surprised on the differance it makes. Personally if it was just headunit and speakers, I'd do without it since it would not sound satisfying to my taste especially over the engine note. |

Well, if you prefer radio to music, maybe an XM Satellite player - I thought about those before - They have some cool stations - ESPN, etc. I think there are a few weather stations also. :-) |

I totally agree, the MP3 player would be an excellent substitution for a CD changer. But as it turn out, I use my radio mainly for weather and traffic report |

If you are into the MP3's, you should consider an MP3 player - They can play MP3's, CD-R's, and regular CD's. You can put 180 MP3 Songs on a CD - Then you wouldn't need a changer! I was very happy with mine. The brand was Rockford Fosgate. It was in an Xterra I used to drive. |

I recently put in a $200 single CD Panasonic from Circuit City (Free installation). The old one would not play CD-Rs. The guy installed it was very good and knowledgeable. I know some people would say don't do it from CC, but I was watching this guy the whole time and it was really a pretty simple swap. I was out of there in less than an hour. Extremely satisfied with the purchase and no electrical problems. But if you want to install a CD changer and/or amps, I would probably take it somewhere else. Oh and my new deck came with a remote. I thought the signal would go through the cover so I can keep it closed, but it didn't. So the remote is worthless. Goodluck. |
