Thanks for the tip on the screw. I have some Valence I just received and I will put them on in a day or so. They look great! My biggest prob with stock paddles is paint chips. There is a set also being made in Japan I saw on e-bay. No input on those. Anyone seen them?

I replaced my F1 shift paddles with the carbon fiber ones from Valence. The first attached picture shows the new shifters. They have a cool polish and are perfect in the front. The back is not as smooth. The original metal paddles have an edge on the back side, which I found not functional. I assume that the design is supposed to give you more grip, but it somehow feels wrong to me. I like to slide with my finger along the shifter during small corrections with the steering wheel and to slide out over the edge during turns. Valence removed the edge and now it feels right to me (second attached picture). Installation is a 5 min job. Only complication is that there is some kind of washer behind the screws. They are black and if the fall down you are searching for 10 min with a flash light as I did. Hold the paddle while you unscrew it and lift the screws out with the paddle and it will work. The original metal paddles feel very heavy compared to the Valence ones. Note sure if that has an impact in quickness of shifting; however you might consider that if you like the feel of metal. Other things to consider are the usability with sweaty hands or gloves, both of which I have not tried, i.e. not experience yet. I like the look and feel of the carbon fiber shifters now I need a carbon steering wheel it never stops
