I debaged the back of my WRX...the giant SUBARU letters had to go. Heres what I did Get a hair dryer. Heat the emblem for 3-5 minutes. Take dental floss....(i had to braid it...thats the only way it didnt break)and run it between the emblem and the car. Once the emblem is off...get some "goo gone" to take off the remaining adhesive. It worked great for me...took about 30 minutes...(i was very careful with my baby) I had to do it 6 times... S U B A R U. Good Luck |

You're right - the 3M product is awesome but I couldn't get it here so I went with the WD-40. Stay away from something called "Goo Be Gone" (or something to that effect) - absolutely useless. |

I did the same with my faded M3 emblem and believe it or not, someone suggested dental floss which worked beautifully. |

Unwaxed, of course !! How's it going to adhere firmly to a waxy substrate ? |

For the best adhesion, is it better to install the new emblem on a waxed or unwaxed surface?

Michael, Try the 3m adhesive remover also removes grease and wax. It works perfectly. You can get it at most auto parts stores especially ones that sell paint etc. Rob |

WD-40, a hair dryer if necessary (not a heat gun) and some fishing line will take care of the emblem. |

WD-40. Let it work into the adhesive. |

Another annoying newbie question... What is the best way to remove the "cabriolet" emblem from the rear of my Mondial QV? It is partially damaged and I have purchased a replacement. PS--I did search before posting and couldn't find anything quite relevant to this question. |
