Joe,

All sorted - picked up the wheel yesterday and it looks brand new - get this..30!! Including fitting a new valve, balancing and removing/refitting the tyre.

They can deliver/collect but they are local to me (Hemel Hempstead) so I went there..it's all they do and they are very good & reasonable.

Worth making a note of for those kerb scraping occassions.

I would use KHP for most things, but it is a fair distance from me for a tiny things like this.

Mark,

I know a few guys who've used Chips Away - they come highly recommended (head office 0800 0287878 - call and give your postcode - they'll direct a local guy to you).

'Deep gash' in one wheel was 55 for one friend - labour and materials all inc. The Chips Away guy visits you and does the work then and there.

Hope that helps.

Does anybody know of a decent company who can repair alloys in the UK? Preferably they would collect & deliver.

I sustained some damage to the left passenger wheel when a Motorbike decided clipped it (he's ok!)

The valve came off, so the tyre lost all air, and there is some damage (not deep) to the finish on the outer rim.

At the moment I am on the (50mph max speed) space saver, which is driving me crazy!

One garage I spoke to so far wanted to know if the wheel was magnesium..89 328 GTS (ABS) - does anyone know if it is?

Thanks,

Marc.
