I would say that is a challenge car. looks just like mine. you can get a title with a challenge car if you want one, other wise it does only come with a bill of sale. I have both a bill of sale and a title on the car. It cannot be registered through ANY motor vehicle department because of the strange VIN. it will be kicked out of the system every time. I know I tried. you can read kilometers on the car and can also hook up the SD2 and get mileage on it.

this is a SMOKIN deal for this car.

Hubert-thanks again for your help. spoke with toda, but their crate motor makes 380bhp, a good bit less than what i have now. It's for some type of spec series they run.

Will-interior looks like a Challenge, but Challenges have no odometers so how could seller list the mileage? I also looked up my street and C car Vin's, and the race car has an R in place of the T, and also has only one letter (B) after the first series of numbers. The street car has 2 letters. In addition, the Challenge cars are bought with only a bill of sale, and no state registration papers are available. The seller is not representing this as a Challenge car, just as a "Ferrari Race Car". I thought all Ferraris are race cars.
Looks like just a stripped out Modena with some new carbon fiber pieces, hood locks and a tow hook. Or maybe it's really a Challenge Stradale and the seller has no idea what he has? Now that would be a great buy.

Here's what Carfax does with my 360C VIN:

"The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) you entered, ZFFYR51B000118xxx, is invalid. Please check the number for accuracy and try again below."

they don't put VIN # on race cars as far as I know.
I recently bought a Viper Comp Coupe (not street legal) and this was no 17 digit number so NO WAY NO HOW are you going to dupe any state into registering it since all states verify VIN physically the first time it is registered in that state.

Wayne, when I entered my 360C's VIN into Carfax I got a message saying my VIN was invalid, so I'm not sure that's a red flag. I'll try Carfax now with my VIN and just post whatever it says.

Just got off the phone with my Insurance Co.
Their computer would not accept the VIN #
given.Maybe he had a typo in the BEST case scenario.

Hugh - good question! Definitely in the paper. I don't have the car here, but I have no reason to think you're wrong. Interesting - I wonder why they wouldn't put the VIN on the car?

Will: is your vin furnished on the paperwork, or on the actual body of the car? As I've never seen a vin on the body of a 360c (of the few that I've seen).

Hugh, I have a 360C, and it definitely has a VIN, though my understanding is that services like Carfax can't make any sense of it. My car's VIN is very similar to that of the e-Bay car, obviously with a different last 6 numbers, but also with an "R" where the "T" is in the e-Bay car's VIN. Someone must have a decoder for this sort of thing.

Solly: The interior looks pretty 360C, don't you think? Looks like the fire bottle is in the right place, and the dash and material around the center console look like what's in my car. Does anything there not ring true to you? My car's at FoW, so I don;t have anything to compare.

I also agree with Rob, it's not like the car's a steal given the seller's seemingly complete ignorance of what he's selling, lack of photos, etc.

The furnished vin is: ZFFYT53B000123531
Anyone know if it's real? Authentic 360C's didn't come with a vin, so I'd doubt the credibility of the vin (if it's a true 360c), or the authenticity of this car as a challenge car (if the vin comes up real).

Solly: did you ever hear back re: the 360 crate motor from Toda?

Scott
Thanks for heads up. I just bid on this and sent some questions to the seller.
Think I did it in the wrong order, I bid first and asked questions afterwards..oh well?

It looks like a standard 360 with a racing seat, maybe a stripped out interior and a tow hook. I don't believe 360 Challenges can be made street legal, and if they could it would add back a lot of the weight that is a critical factor in the Challenge's speed. He should post the VIN #.

Rob, you're missing that this car is a street legal challenge car (or did I misread this?)..

FoD has a red Challenge car asking $110k, so I don't think the $99k price is too off with the lacking of information. Now FoD could tell you about every mile of their $110k car.

My 355 Challenge came from the same estate as the 360 Challenge at FoD.

Has anyone noticed this yet? I just came across it and have nothing to do with the sale. It might be a good deal for someone. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6212&item=2437806758
