My weekend has been hijacked and I won't be able to make it to Summit point. :-(

Daniel -
I'd love to meet up some time and compare notes. The only other Ferrari owner that I know of near me is a gentleman with a 328 GTS. He lives just outside Middleburg and I have never had occasion to meet him, only seen him in the car a couple of times. Drop me a line via PM and maybe we can set something up one weekend.

Jim, you probably got me beat, only because I didnt know of any Ferrari owners near here- maybe we could check our cars out some time.

I might be coming up on Saturday as a spectator.

Daniel -
I'm about 20 miles away so I might be able to make it in under 25 minutes as long as no cops get in my way. :-)

I will be spectating on sunday. I'd love to meet some of you! BTW I think I can make the claim that I am the closest Ferrari owner to this track- 25 minutes

Jon-
Yeah, Redding and I are friends (he lives but a mile away) and he knows Dermot(C-Type). Redding knows Dermot is comin' up. He has a license (drove a Mallock[sp] in SCCA) but I certainly concur with you(and so will he) 'bout not wanting to mess up that car! It is, indeed, gorgeous.
Yep, $175/day.
See ya on Saturday!

Marq,

Give Redding Finney at FOW a call at (703) 478-3606. Tell him you are a friend of mine.

The lunch time parade lap is free but I think the car needs to be tech inspected.

If you want to do the actual lapping sessions a helmet is required. I wouldn't risk that Jag in the faster run groups however. Maybe ask to be in the novice group (not based on your friend's driving ability but on the relative safe driving by this group).

That car is way too nice to ding up.

Regards,

Jon

Jon-
Thanks for the kind words with regards to my car. Sincerely appreciated, especially coming from you!
Was only partly serious about the ride for my wife...honestly hadn't even mentioned it to her. I know that your car books up that spare seat very quickly. Your driving skills are well-known.
As far as the Jag being out on the track, he just called me this a.m. to ask what the requirements/costs were so I think he'll be out there.
Again, look forward to seeing you there.

Marq,

My apologies on the car mix up. There are two stunning yellow 308/328's I have seen in the past year. Yours was the 328GTS and I inadvertantly got your car mixed up with another yellow 308GTB at the Glen that like your car looks like it came from a museum.

Rides are getting booked up but there are usually a couple of no shows so possibly at the end of the day.

See you Saturday. Can't wait to see the Jag again. Any chance your buddy would take it out on the track for the lunch time parade lap?

Regards,

Jon

Hey Jon-
No, we'll be driving the yllw 328GTS this weekend. Since you last saw the Jag, he's added fuel injection for better drivability. Ya gonna be offering any rides on Saturday? I think my wife would love to go out in a Challenge car... We'll look for you on Saturday and will surely say 'hello'.

Best,
Marq

Marq,

That's great! I'll have the digital camera this time and want some pics of the Jag. Are you bringing your 308GTB along?

See you Saturday!

Jon

I'll be up on Saturday. See thread in 'Other Areas' for a few more that'll attend. Looking forward to meeting a few more F-Chat folks.
Got a friend with a nice C-Type that'll probably follow us up. Looking forward to meeting you all.
Weather sounds great for both days!

Kevin,

Will be there both days. I have a spare helmet but it's a size large. If you need either a smaller helmet or a larger one let me know in advance as FOW might have a spare.

If you have your own helmet bring it as mine is a bit worn and doesn't exactly smell new.
Driver's meeting is at 9 am. We will either got out right before lunch or right after. Usually first run group no passengers are allowed.

Should be plenty of action both days with 70+ cars.

Regards,

Jon

Kevin, I'll be driving out Sunday to spectate. It would be nice to meet some other FChat-ers.

Jon, I met you about 2 years ago when you sold your stock 355 brakes to Ric Rainbolt. I picked them up for him at your house.

Is there a general meeting area we can all convene at?

Thanks,
Lashdeep

Lashdeep,

Yes I remember you. I think you had a TR didn't you. My car is a barchetta red 355 Challenge with yellow bumpers and the #23. Can't miss it!

Maybe we can all get a group shot under the FOW trailer during lunch.

I think there will be at least a half dozen (Will575, Solly, Paul P. ??, Kevin, Lashdeep, myself, anyone else ???).

Looks like the weather will cooperate both day's (knock on wood).

Regards,

Jon

Kevin,

I was at FOW yesterday picking up some parts for my car. Arnold Poundstone told me Charlie Arnott's 512M will be there as well as his "Paul Newman" Daytona Comp coupe. Richie Liebhavers 512BBLM will be there as well along with Bob Coates 512BBLM.

Lot's of Challenge cars, road cars, and a Countash. Also Richard Von Medicus of Karoserrie was going to bring his vintage Lotus open wheel car to the event. There may also be a Can Am Lola present.

No 333's will be present.

Which day are you shooting for (or both).

Regards,

Jon

Joe, thanks but.......Unfortunately, of the 3 F50GT's in existence none are mine. NSX will have to suffice for now.

Who's going? I know I'll probably see Jon K. It would cool to put some names with faces. Also, does anyone know about the cars attending? Jon's post stated 70 cars are lined up. I have heard that a 250GTO may be there. Enzo's? 333's?
