What year is your 550?

I have a 99 which was the first year they used the Becker Mexico unit. Here's their home page.

I love Becker units... they're so understated... however they're not particularly cheap.

If you have a 99+ model, most of the Becker units will plug and play.

My OEM unit has gone on the blink and I'm having a devil of a time getting it fixed. Has anyone had good results with an aftermarket radio/cd unit (the head only) for a plug and play replacement for the OEM?
Any advice or pointing to a reliable and informed source would be much appreciated.
TIA
