Gary:

That car has been on Ebay for a long long time. What did you finally buy the car for? They started at $110K. I am sad to hear about one less Boxer on this planet.

Some of you may have heard already... The Boxer that I was buying in Maryland was wrecked by the seller last Saturday while he was taking it for one "last drive". He spun it and hit a tree. Passenger door wiped out and other body damage on the right side. Grand Touring just inspected it the other day and they say it's a total loss.

On the positive note: I have found and bought another red/tan Boxer in Los Angeles and it will be shipping to Seattle on Tuesday. Here's a picture. 1984 512BBi, 17K miles. It's a keeper!

I am just completing a major on my car. I went the extra mile and had a set of new cats made up and the addition of a smog pump .My setup is very trick as i can unbolt all the smog stuff and change to the stock system without drilling or welding anything on the car. My car was purchased with all papers and registered in California but was repainted and lost the bar sticker . I needed to apply for a new sticker.I would think cats would be necessary for any state.

Dave, what year is your Boxer? The car I'm buying doesn't have cats on it and I'm concerned that it might not pass the emissions test in my state. Does yours have cats? or, did your mechanic just lean it out enough to squeak by?

Jim , My Boxer is looking great and the sound of the engine is just sweet music .If everything goes well the car will get a bar sticker Tuesday morning. Bill has leaned the fuel mixture and pre tested the car and all looks great - numbers fall way below the minimum. I guess it will take a day to get everything back on the car to original.

Great looking car. I love my Boxer. It is all red with tan interior with brown inserts and a tan dash. I have driven mine over 5k miles in the 11 months I have owned it.

Dave E. - Has Bill finished yet? Sorry my throw out bearing would not work. Let me know when you are driving again. I want to work with you on the exhaust system.

Peter, Thanks! I was dazzled with the unique red carpeting too. I also heard that "tan" dashes are extremely rare on Boxers. It looks to be a very nice combo. I am very anxious to actually see it in person. The truck can't get here soon enough!

Raises water in toast.../

I see at least 2 Ferraris daily - not the same ones, mind you...
but the Boxer gives me a certain oomph upon sighting...
Here's to you having a certain oomph while driving.

/... knocks back water - aaaaaaaah

I really like that red carpet against the cream interior! The car looks great.

I'm curious, if it's on the east coast, why does it have California plates?

Robert, I haven't driven it, but I have talked to several Ferrari Club friends who have. With all of the positive feedback I received from them and from the owner of the shop that serviced it for the last two years, I didn't feel that it was necessary to fly back to see it. Yes, the car was in California from 1996-2001. Symbolic Motors had owned it at one time and it was offered at the RM Auction in Monterey. I got quite a lot of sales info about it from FML's archive. Thank you Mr. Roush!

Gary,
That car is absolutely beautiful! It looks very clean. Let us know what it's like to drive. I can't wait to get behind the wheel of a Boxer one of these days. They look like beasts! I mean that in the most flattering way of course! Congrats and good luck with it! :-)

Love the boxer in all red or all black! Congratulations Gary! Are you sleeping between now and when it arrives?
Those must be older pictures as the car has California plates.
Have you driven it? how does it compare to the 308QV?

congrats I'm sure you'll love it. It is a MAJOR step up from the 308 of course. It might take you a
couple of times through the gears to adjust
and take that huge grin off your face!

My 308QV has been sold and I'm buying a 1984 512BBi! It is currently on the east coast and will be shipping to Seattle at the end of the month. It's a really clean 13K mile car that has had a complete engine out 30K service done this year. Here's a few photos that the seller took. I'll be taking lots more after it arrives here!
