Well, "begging" probably wasn't the right term. I simply meant that they do a whole lot of footwork and asking for sponsorship money from a wide variety of potential sponsors, not just Acura. Dave

I was on thr oganizing committe for NSXPO99 and was in charge of sponsorships and vendors. No begging with American Honda, they voluntered to pay for Laguna Seca's weekend track fee(about $12K). I really never begged but got a whole bunch of sponsors and vendors to contribute. No reason why FNA should not do the same (maybe they will for next year's Monterey event). |

The NSX club does some serious begging for sponsorship for the annual NSXPO event. Dealers give money, I think Acura gives some, all sorts of folks do. Our club (plug - www.ncracing.org) did as well. All that helps bring the price down immensely for the attendees. Of course it takes tons of work by a few dedicated NSX club members to collect all the sponsorship. I'm not aware of a similar effort for a Ferrari event. Dave |

Friday, a friend was in my office. He has a NSX. He told me what he did last week end. He and about 250 other NSX owners were at Sears Point in the Bay Area for four days. He had a blast. Phil said that Acura (NSX) partially underwrote the track days. This cost him $250 for the whole thing. My question is does Ferrari ever underwrite any event for Ferrari owners?
