Tom, i doubt the cars will really suffer here. They are kept garaged and do not sit out in the sun unless they are being driven. Im also fanatical about keeping the leather conditioned, and i will wash them as little as possible. I dont see it being that much worse here then in Florida. Also, i do not live directly on the ocean, but farther up in the hills. I will only live here a few years and then move to LA most likely.

Andrew the cops here are weird. You can go out one day and see like 10 of them everywhere you look, and then i can go for a week without seeing one. They seem to hang out in the busy parts of town and not on the open roads. As i said before out on the 2 lane roads, i seem to find myself going 100mph just to keep up with traffic. Sometimes you do run up on the pain in the butt tourist going slowly, but usually the site of Lamborghini or Ferrari up their a$$ makes them move over!

Id love to find some people whod like to go cruising. I know there are a few Lotus's and 1 yellow 360 Modena Spider on the island.

Allan, take the drive up Haleakala. Great road...even greater view. The are a lot of neat little towns in the area. Get over to little Makena beach. You wont even think about cars when you are there!

Jim, agreed, did not mean to imply only F-cars would suffer in this environment - I am sure all cars do, thats why you should drive them

Tom
IMHO the only reason to own these cars is to use and enjoy them. If your looking for resale buy a Picasso.

Take that car to Hana, but stay off the road from there to Wailea.

Lots of curves and traffic to Hana so you can't go too fast but it is a pleasant drive nevertheless. I'll dig up a photo from the Sebring (I found your comment funny as I was one of those people your talking about).

nice, the weather can't be good for the car - hot sun, intermittent rain, salty air etc, I guess once you have your car in HI for an extended period of time it becomes a tough sell, but hey enjoy it

Very Pretty. What color is the water? It's hard to tell from the photos. Is that rock wall volcanic?
Keep the engines lightly misted with WD40, change the oil and air filters often and you'll be fine.

Allan think about the hi speed bi-annual run in Nevada. It might be worth it to ship your car
for the event.

Almost forgot, the biggest detraction for me here is that there is no one out and about to run around with. Its always just me and 100 Sebring rent a cars. It would be alot of fun to go cruising with several other exotics.

Mike email me again, and maybe we can meet up. My wifes family is coming in on Wednesday, so my schedule may be a little tight.

Jim you are absolutely correct on island placement.

Yes my cars are still registered in Florida.

Jordan there is no place to get cars serviced here. You have to ship them to Honolulu, so im relying on Ferrari and Lamborghini reliability. So far so good.

Im still not very familiar with the island, so when i took the 355 out exploring today, some surfer kids pointed me in the direction of a very cool road, going up into the mountain. Lots of winds and straightaways with s-curves, had a blast and ended up in some sort of chicken farm with chickens crossing the road. Was pretty funny. Also, there on not very many 2 lane roads here, and when you do find them, you see that people think it is the autobahn. I find myself doing 100mph, just keeping up. Police also, atleast so far, do not seem to be a problem, as you can usually see very far in front of you, incase they try to hide.

I could only imagine how many pics would be taken
at night from tourists while you are driving. My
wife and I were laughing at all these pics taken
at night while we were on the road. Remember
nobody actually goes to Houston on a vacation.
All the tourists on Maui are armed with a camera.
You better put the shades on at night while you
are on the road, to protect you from the mini-
nuclear flash.

I recognize the chain link mountains and the view out your front windshield. You must be heading from Lahaina area towards Kehei and Wialea.
