ever since CR figured they'd get into subjective stuff like mens' suit design and sports cars and coffee, i've become a bit of a skeptic of the mag. so while that table is absolutely interesting and undoubtedyl educational; i'd love to hear some real-world experience and feedback.

roy - check out the E39 M5 forum on http://www.bmwm5.com - i seem to remember these systems being not-infrequent discussion topics over there - might be some useful data.

please keep us all posted! i'm very interested myself.

I use the Smart Tire system and wouldn't drive without it!!! I am runing 35 series tires and on certain roads you think your tires are going flat all the time because of the ride. The system gives great piece of mind.

FC Sponsor Nicks Forza handles the system.

Anyone have recommendations or comments on aftermarket tire pressure monitoring systems with transmitters inside each tire? I lost a left rear at 85 MPH on our M3 a while ago, most likely due to a puncture that went undetected, and would like to avoid a similar event in my 550.
