I use to be really into blues, I still like it, I just don't play guitar myself anymore or go to see shows. There are several good hole in the wall blues places in Dallas like Muddy Waters, Poor Davids, and Greenville Bar & Grill. I had seen Bob play at Poor Davids before.

It was really cool, some young rich guy move to Salina out of all places about 7 years ago and bought a beautiful old church and started Blue Haven Studios. This is the 6th year they've done this show. The "backstage" was downstairs with a large screen showing what was going on upstairs. You could mingle with all of these greats. John Weston was my favorite and the only CD I bought. Nappy was the most entertaining as he did a 15 minute jam about sqeezing her "lemmons". This 70 something guy couldn't even walk to the stage, but animated how we squeezed her lemmons, licked them, did a little strip tease, grabbed himself, and then humped the floor. My poor mom and the rest of Bible belt Salina, KS was going crazy. All of this in an old church too. :-) I told my mom that's the most inspired I've ever been inside a church.

Holy Crikey - that's a great show you must have seen.

I think I've got some Carey Bell & Bob Margolin CD's - can't be bothered to dig - (I've got a lot of Blues albums). What's funny is that some of the guys I mentioned on my previous note appear on Margolin's All-Star Blues Jam album. Glad you got to hear and see some real music.

Here's who I saw Friday night...

My mother-inlaw saw BB King's tour bus out on I-70 heading to Salina early Saturday afternoon. Maybe he was going Saturday night?

Taking a wild stab, but - Holy Chit, Rob - did you get to see Pinetop Perkins? The owner of this Yahoo Blues Site I'm a moderator of has had in-depth conversation with him.

Lazy Lester was the only performer on the bill for Fr. and Sat.

Funny thing is - I don't recall seeing a listing for this concert which I'm assuming you're referring to on ours. Thanks for the heads-up.

Most importantly - Belated condolences to your bride on the departure of her uncle.

Well, looks like the Db upgrade did go through from what I can tell. No problems reported so far. FC and FA look like they're working fine.

Only just a couple small things to workout before the switch to the new FC software. :-)

Had a great weekend. Unexpected trip to Kansas for an Uncle of Jennies that passed away. However, saw all her family and my family. Also got in 9 holes of golf and went to an awesome Blues concert Friday night that is becoming world famous. A little 45k pop town in the middle of Kansas draws people from all over the world to this annual Blues concert.

Rob, i was stuck in the NY section for longer than i cared to be... Everytime i clicked on a thread, i was okay, but if i clicked on "FerrariChat.com" to go to the home page, i received a database locking error... i assume that's an indication of the "downtime" you just mentioned...

Other than that, all is peachy here in FerrariChat land...! :-)

Good morning, everyone, how was your weekend...?

OK, the database hasn't been upgraded yet.

Please be patient over the next day as we work on the upgrade and test everything out. If you see the MySQL error, then we're still working on it.

Thanks

Sorry for the downtime, there might be some more as I test everything out. I'll report any problems that appear and also as they get resolved. I'm unaware of any problems at this time.

Please report any problems you may find within this thread.

Just another step getting us closer to the new software and making FC a better community for all. :-)

Thanks,
rob
