Ryan I think that red car is a Challenge car, look at the dry brake gas filler. But also check out the "Challenge car" the same outfit is selling on p 129 - must be the incredibly rare full race version of the 360 Spyder.

If they're asking $139 for a 360 Challenge, they may be dreaming.

there's a stradale for sale in the new (Nov 03 issue) DuPont Registry for $135k. it's a misprint though. they show a picture of the stradale and describe an SL55.

"The Stradale is a pretend race car pure and simple."

Frank, I have a race car and a 575M and I nonetheless want, and have ordered, a Stradale. There's no question that compromises between street and track are just that - compromises. I love track driving, and this car will make me happy by reminding me of those sounds and sensations when I'm driving around town. The Stradale also may be an excellent choice for the owner who doesn't want a track only car, but wants to track a Ferrari. I rather like the Stradale concept, as least as I interpret it, and if Ferrari did a 575MM Stradale, I'd trade my 575 for it in a heartbeat.

Try it, you might like it! Respectfully, Will

Frank,

If I wanted a 4000lbs+ luxo-barge, I'd buy a German sedan.

No offence to 550/575 owners, only to Frank the wannabe.

Frank, shouldn't you be in the thread entitled "Ferrari is not the same since Enzo is gone!" defending your love for the 550 and the 12's? I think after the 500th time hearing how much you don't like 360's, we get the hint. Or was the Gary Green ID getting too boring for ya? lol

Frank, my "impaired" vision sees the Stradale is *exactly* what I want in a car in every way... I couldn't have designed something more perfect for me. And I will use it as a near-daily driver... the ride is supposed to be quite nice... I don't need leather and stereo... but I do need a daily dose of that sound and that driver-involvement.

Frank, if that doesn't appeal to you, why are you in this thread? Just to insult our "vision"? Just ignore the Stradale... they're only making a few of them... it won't impact your 550/575 at all. Allan thankfully toned himself down... we don't need you hijacking threads to fill the gap.

Brian, if you want a race car get one. The Stradale is a pretend race car pure and simple. The Italian modern equivalent of a Pontiac Trans Am . Only it has the stripes instead of the screaming chicken.

Frank- the true modern gentlemen's 12 is the 550. To my eyes a much cleaner design.

Best!
Ben.

Well, here's to all us vision-impaired souls who find the 360 even better looking than the 575M... not that looks are even the key issue for those of us buying Stradales... but the charm of the Stradale is beyond your comprehension, Frank... your vision being sooo much superior to ours.

After they look at it , unless they're vision impaired , they will realize how much better a 575M looks and they will beg the dealer to take the 360 back on trade for a 575M !

1) Pull the cats with a hacksaw in FoSF parking lot. I want it to shoot fire like a proper race car!

2) Do the exact same 'unique' mods as will575 because I'm different, just like you!

3) Swap cars with Dan and tear it up.

4) Sneak onto Sears Point at about 4 in the morning. Wake everyone up doing a few laps.

5) Give it back to Norm, because it's actually his car. Was a fun few days though! Look Norm, 'Delivery miles!'

Best!
Ben.

Top ten list?

10 - Take full advantage of the three day headstart I'll have before they get my check back.

9 - Prove once and for all that only fast drivers buy fast cars.

8 - Have it transported to my climate controlled garage and pushed into the big plastic bubble for safe keeping.

7 - List it on e-Bay for $1 million.

6 - Personalize it, maybe a little neon, some decent wheels, a wing, body kit, you know, something that says "I'm here, now party."

5 - The ladies love a Stradale! Cruise the local junior college for hot babes, if my wife lets me.

...

1 - Drive it home as fast as I can to make sure I don't miss anything on FChat.

I think some Europeans have already taken delivery.
Us in the US have to wait an extra month or two.
And then the October deliveries, which have landed, are sitting waiting DOT's final stamp of approval. Who knows what the hold up is there? We need to find someone with a DOT friend to figure out what's going on.

Glad to see I am not the only one thinking that way!

Besides, that sounds like so much more fun! (As long as it doesn't break!)

Seriously considering the italy delivery option - the stelvio pass option seems like a nice opportunity to get to know the car! Main draw back is getting the car somewhat later in the US.

I am just curious.

The Stongard is a consideration. I'd probably get that done already at the dealer before I pick-up the car.

Are you kidding? There are going to be plenty of awed and startled tunnel commuters for a 50 mile radius the first day!

And of course, posting pictures to F-chat, as 'obligated' :-)

See the break-in thread for what my first day or two will be like (includes some hard runs, some oil changes, and a trip to the track)... unless someone pops up with an argument to convince me to do otherwise. :-)

Realistically, I also need to decide timing of Stongard (3M film) and a few cosmetic modifications that I am debating. Don't want to get it dinged up before I get its protection on!

Then plenty of track days at the various area tracks and then after a month or two the autox season should start up... and surely Rob will have a good rally planned sometime early spring.

I'm still trying to figure out if I can pull off Monterey in August. I am sure next years' N'awlins trip will be in the cards. Okay, I am probably thinking a few months beyond the question.

Fella's

So for those guys that are lucky enough to buy the 360 CS, what are you going to do first with it, other than drive it of course. hahaha. :-) I'm sure you have had sleepless nights thinking about what you are going to do when you take delivery.

So lets hear about it!!
