After reading this and other threads, I've come to the conclusion that my bedroom is no longer suitable for me to sleep in. It is far too valuable! I must have about $20k worth of books, mags, models, and posters. If I ever need to cash up, I'll let you guys know. :-)

That was a nice tribute.

I gave my copy away to a lil' kid that came up to me at a BBQ stand and said "What ya readin' mista?
Ferraris, WOW!" He was about seven, with his grandparents, who were mortified he was buggin' me.

Them kids get to me everytime. We're leaving it all to them, ya know.

2 years ago you could get complete Forza sets on ebay for $90-130, those were the days. :-)

I got 70 Cavallnos from orginal issue 1 and mixed matched up to about issue 90 for $500. From a FC user. Have I ever said before that FC rocks!

Also thanks to GT4 Peter for giving me either a Forza #2 or #3 a few years back as he had a duplicate.

Your kidding! $350 for Forza 1? Glad I also have them. I had a hard time selling my duplicate issue two for $90 but I did more than a year ago. Issues 1 and 2 from Cavallino are going for $300 minimum and Forza 1 and 2 for $130 maximum in my opinion. I haven't seen them go higher myself, but if you guys say so.. I will definately will sell mine for that money and will buy me another one for market price. Gives me a nice $200 profit. Almost enough to buy Cavallino 2 which I still miss ;-)

Sorry, no duplicates of the Forza tribute

FWIW You can still get the tribute issue at a bunch of places around Portland. Borders in Tigard had at least half a dozen copies yesterday.

I picked up Forza #1-42 on ebay for approx $450. Thought it was well worth it based on the single issue prices that were listed on ebay for the early issues. Those issues from ebay backfilled what I didn't have so now I'm current with all of them.

I have some duplicates of the later issues if you're missing one and can't find a back issue. Sorry, no duplicates of the Forza tribute.

Cavallino #1 will go for $400+, Forza #1 is around $80-140 market. I think Forza #2 will be worth more as it's harder to find. They made extra #1 copies to promote it when new.

Niels,

No, I am not confused, Forza #1 has bid to $350 or more on ebay...

I am not saying it is worth $350, but more than one person has seen those bids.

Yes, Cavallino #1 regulary trades at that level as well...

Sincerely,
not confused Chris

#2 is the only one i'm missing... still holding out on the "finding-one-for-2-dollars-at-a-garage-sale" dream to come true...

..always wondered why #2 was sooo hard to find... a flood would be a good explanation... thx, niels

niels, i also agree with you on the Cavallino mix-up here... i know 1 & 2 are rare but the prices seem waaaaaay up there....

Niels,

Good to know. I always wondered why issue #2 was harder to come by than #1. I've been watching Forza listings on eBay for some time now and have never seen a single issue fetch more than $130.

I think you guys are mixing them up with Cavallino! The early issues indeed go for several hundreds of dollars. The early Forzas are not cheap either but $100 maximum. Issue two is harder to get than issue one. In that period Forza seem to have some flooding problems in their warehouse and half of the 'crop' was lost. So I have been told anyway.

Andrew, I think you are right. It is the copy that has the 308 buyer`s guide, #25....I`m sorry, my mistake.

Same as Waldo. After I got the first one at a NY newstand, I haven't missed an issue yet.

I once saw the first issue on e-bay for a few hundred dollars.. May have even be a thousand..Can't quite remember. I do know it was a crap load of $$$$$$$

I believe that I have the last good copy of issue #1 available from Forza.

I won it in a photo caption contest from Forza about a year or two ago. When I talked to the editor about that issue, I was told that they had a couple left but they were showing the signs of sitting around (rips, tears, etc). The copy that I got as the prize was the best of the #1s they still had lying around.

I have never seen issue #1 on eBay for $250 and $350. If that were the case, you could buy the one for $100 on eBay now and flip it for 2-3 times as much. Not likely, though. The entire collection #1-49 has been selling for less than $300 on eBay.

Wow, what is issue no.1 worth these days? When I got my 308 a few years ago, a friend gave me that issue as a gift, saying he bought issue number one on a whim, and never bought another...

Mick,

I think FORZA was referring to their discovery of a lot of issue #25's. I don't recall anything about them finding additional issues of #1.

Just called them and they didn't know anything about it.
:-(

On an almost related note: I back ordered copies of #49 with the FChat tribute. For some reason it never made my newsstand (checked weekly), so I ordered it from them. Once I have them, I'll send them to the folks in Europe who sent me an email long time ago.

Hi there! Just saw a guy on eBay trying to sell a mint copy of FORZA magazine #1, with an article on the F308.His starting price is $100.00 No bids yet, but guys, if you want one, the publisher has just found an old stash of NOS(no reprints). Just read the backissue section in the last FORZA magazine, and order yours for about $8.50
Thanks, Mick
