If you start talking about power versus power and who sees whom in whose rear view mirror the point never ends. I can get in my Pantera and blow a lot of cars off the road, but it still isnt a Ferrari. Nissan, Toyota, will never have the allure and mystique of a Ferrari, period. Do those cars perform well and are they well made cars, etc, etc? Yes, of course. If youll scroll down to the original post, youll see I was agreeing with George who thought the NSX has no soul. I still agree.

I am a die hard F car guy....but I have to admit that when I drove an NSX for the first time back in 91....those guys at Honda got it right....the first time! I probably wouldn't buy one...but it is a job well done. Not the most original design....I saw a rejected TR design that looks conspiculously like the NSX. Have you seen the 'new' NSX photos in the press...it looks more than conspicuously like the Enzo! |

No soul? I usually keep to myself on F-chat when I hear this about the NSX. The forum is dedicated to Ferraris, not NSX's. But I'll take no soul with your soulful 308 in my rearview mirror anytime! with the a/c blasting I might add! :-) |

Amen. I had a 1991 NSX for 6 years prior to my 355 and it was a great car. As far as Senna was concerned well... |

Al- If you don't like the car that's fine. If you think it has no soul.... you're a Chassis snob or you choose to ignore what soul really is.
Starting in 1988- the McLaren Honda conquered all before it by winning 15 out of 16 races. Prost won 7 and Senna won 8 which enabled him to his first World Championship. The two greatest racers in F1 History went on to do the final testing and track set-up for HONDA's 1990 NSX. Which became the instant darling of the Automotive press. The NSX is in-a-way a personal tribute to Ayrton Senna de Silva. I believe that he was the greatest driver of his generation - better than Prost, Mansell, Piquet and Schumacher. He was quite simply a genius, and 100% dedicated to the sport in which he loved - Formula 1. The reason the NSX was better on the street and track in 1991 than all others was the magic and soul that people like Senna, Prost, and Zanardi breathed into that cars final set-up.
Guys on Ferrari chat can love it or leave it. But I don't buy the Bull sh!t about no soul anymore. Senna will always be the soul of the NSX to the guys that own the car. In a way it is a memorial to a great race driver who left this world far too early.

My problem with the NSX is I cannot sit in it. I am only a little over 6' and my head sticks thur the sun roof. It is a very nice car but made for little people.

just sad I would be quite happy with that car without the prancer I know the interior still reminds me of a rental Accord and it does not have the UMPH but it is a damn nice quick car and reliable |

Somebody is really confused.... (zoom in on the rear picture) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2435659164 I'm not sure who they are trying to fool. The NSX is nice enough as is. No soul, but a nice performer none the less.
