Hey Pete, Sorry I missed the first time around. Amazing the stories people come up with. |

Henry, this auction was posted here before a few weeks ago. Obviously the seller failed to "sell" last time (gee, I wonder why?). Other FC'ers pointed out that a few of his photos are blatant copies of pics found in publications and some others, if you closely, are not of the same car! |

You mean the mighty, gearbox-maven Valerio Colotti? I've already got this John Starkey story saved as a fave - well worth any F-Chatter saving and reading - 'specially since there's 139 days left 'til F-1 starts up... |

Looks to me like he is talking about special drop gears ... so what!. They are not going to give the engine more horsepower to enable a 308 to archieve the speeds he talks about. Yes more efficient gears will reduce the amount of power lost on its way to the wheels ... but one has to question whether a 308 has enough power to pull a genuine 175 mph. The only other time I have heard of Colotti, was in reference to an early F1 gearbox ... plus the (I think) made the gearboxes for some Ferrari sports racers. I would not pay extra for this stuff myself, as without the rest of the package, all you have is some performance drop gears (so what!) ... probably noicier and of no use to me. Pete |

Anyone know anything about this 308 listed on ebay? I don't quite understand it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6212&item=2438094242 |
