Hi Shark,

No pics allowed in the factory but it's still definitely worth it! The memories will live on forever with me...

Getting into is quite simple: a fat and probably hardly justifiable check, and a long waiting line. Sounds familiar ? ;-)
I'll let you know if I they manage to make me a capable power slider.

That's what I want to figure out how to get into... the driving courses. Anyway...

Be sure to report back how you liked the driving course!

Planning to stop by in November on my way to the Mugello driving course. Are pictures allowed in the factory ? Is the visit worth it ?

Another good stop in Italy is the Maranello Rosso Collection in San MArino. Its located on the eastern coast close to Bologna (or somewhere in that area). This is a private collection of 25 Ferraris ranging from the very first cars up to the F40 and an F1 race car. There's also a 250 GTO. Its nothing like going to Maranello to see the factory, but if your in the area this would be a great stop!!

I went there 2 years ago and it was definately worth going to. i believe their website is www.maranellorosso.com theres a bunch of info there about the place with directions and whatnot. hope you can make it there.

if you have a specicif time period that you'll be in italy FNA tries hard to schedule a factory tour that works with your schedule. but these tours are fairly popular so the more time you give FNA the better.

IMO the best place to stay while visiting the factory is Modena not Maranello. Modena is about 15 minutes away by car, and it is a much more charming and interesting place to visit. After you visit the factory, the ferrari store and museum there is not all that much to see or do in Maranello. There is a good place to have lunch called Montanas. it's a 10 minute walk from the factory and you walk right past the Fiorano test track. it's fairly common to see ferraris be tested on the track so it's fun to stop and watch through the fence. we saw an enzo taking a few laps on our way to lunch :-) Montanas reportedly is schumacher's favorite place for lunch while he's at maranello. there are lots of pictures of him on the wall. the food was really good.

How far in advance did you need to contact FNA to arrange the trip? I might be going to Italy in the Spring and I definitely want to make my pilgrimage and check out the factory. Thanks. :-)
