John,
I've got to re-size those pics before I can post them. Needless to say they are going in his Ferrari bedroom.

Kelly:

I would have bet the first picture you would have posted would have been when we sat your son in the Shuey's F2002, and the expression on his face. Would have lost that bet.

And the second photo would have been the pretty ladies at the Mardi Gras Ball. OOPs

Jim,
You would not believe how "cool" the cops over there are. They did a great job keeping everyone out of the way while we sped to the track event.

Kelly,
Did everyone get a bottle of wine? I ended up having to leave early on Sunday and didn't get to make it. If you have any extra laying around let me know. I'll gladly pay you for one. Who ended up getting awards on Sunday? I was dying to know who got best of show.

Yeah DES, it was outta hand real quick!! I just touched 100 mph myself catching up to the TR in front of me on Bourbon Street. That FoW 360GT driving on the street was S I C K!!! Roland was no slouch either. He was 2 cars ahead of me the whole way. What a glorious noise!

That 288 GTO is to die for. I sat in one accidently at Van Ness Auto (now the site of the movie cineplex, AMC 1000) in San Francisco back in 1986 when I was in high school thinking it was a 308 GTB. Later, I found out it was a 288 GTO, one of about 250 in the world! :-)

These pictures are amazing! There's so many pictures that my laptop warned me that I am low on virtual memory....I just closed my other windows consisting of my work and continued to view these great pics!!!!!! :-) Thanks for posting them!

Jon,
The Bourbon Street party was unreal! I had a blast looking down at all the people parting. I do have some beads for you if you if you want them. They had some cool ones that light up and stuff. You should have come down there just to see the scene going on. DES down on the street hustling the ladies for a peak was classic. It was nice to meet you and I'll definitly look you up next time I am over there. Give me a call if you want on my cell and I'll tell you all the inside details since this is a public forum:-)

For me, the most impressive car was the 62 or 63 NART F1 car. According the John, Mr. Ferrari got ticked at the FIA and refused to field a team for one year.(Maybe because he got caught?) But somehow NART got a car and ended up running.

But the most impressive thing is how brave those drivers had to be. These things had to be death missiles. One mistake and boom, you're gone. What you can't see it that the gas tank wraps around the driver's seat. You can see that there's not much of a roll bar. Plus, the seat belt was a little skimpy by today's standards. Does anybody know how well this car did?

Guys,
I just got in to work and am still in shock from the things I saw and did this weekend. I'll be making my own post later on today or maybe tomorrow if I can get my brain calmed down. DES and I had an adventure like no other. I'm sure he's reading this laughing at work. Words cannot do justice some of the stories I have to tell. Just wait guys......just you wait. I have over 231 pics I'll be posting. I am still trying to decide where to start.....I have so much to say and so many people to thank. All I can say is this was the best 4 days of my entire life and I seriously mean that!

Donny,

If you look at my pics you will see one of your car being judged(the pic underneath a red enzo pic). Also the one I took of you and your wife.

That F-chat t-shirt idea would be perfect for any of these events. That way nobody would miss out on meeting someone whom they have talked with online several times.

Hopefully we will run into each other sometime soon.

John, really enjoyed meeting you and the other F-chatters! Maybe next year we all should wear F-Chat shirts so it'll be easier to find everyone. (Hinting at free shirts..... are you reading this, Rob??) We had a great time this year and looking forward to seeing you next year. We also enjoyed meeting DES and Matt on track day and look forward to DES' write up.

Franco and John, thanks for arranging a spectacular concourso event that will be hard to top next year.

Going to attempt several pictures:

(of course the first is our 308)

I am glad that everyone is enjoying the pics. It was incredible getting to see these great cars in person.

As for the F2002 I was told that the car was wrecked early on in testing and then rebuilt for Shell Oil. So maybe the exhaust was changed later on in the car's development.

DES left this morning at around 6am, so I am guessing that he is pretty exhausted. He will have pics galore up probably by tomorrow.

Dave,
I would say that at least 65%(roughly) of the cars were local. Ferrari of Houston brought a ton of Texas owners with them as well. The red Enzo is local, but the yellow one was form Montana.

was that the F2001 or F2002? i noticed that on the car at the concourso the exhaust pipe was recessed into the body as seen in this picture of the F2001 (courtesy of Ferrari.com)
Upload

but looking at a pic of the F2002 you can see that the exhaust comes out of the body.

Yoshi,

This was the 4th installment of the annual event. It only gets better each year!

Speaking of DFW, Giuseppi was there(FoH, FoD). Ferari of Houston was well represented.

Man, this thread made my day. Thanks John! Lying a bed w/ my leg up, I only could imagine going there now, but I will try my best to get there next year. There will be next year right?
Boys from DFW should get together next year to go there.

Paul,

I feel ridiculous for not introducing myself to you after we talked about F1 for a bit today at the concourso. We also spoke about our affinity for black F-cars.

Are you going to the quarter tonight?

The F2002 was rolled around with a wrap that fit over the tires. So the dirty "tires" shot is before they removed them.

John,

The pics that look like dirty tires are on the F2002 were taken before they took the tire covers off. I wish I could say they were dirty because of the driving they let me do, but alas...

Wow!! Very nice pics!

Could I ask you a question...
How come I see pics of the F2002 with dirty tyres and then I see pics of that same car with new Bridgestone Potenza tyres.

My favorite pics are the 2nd and 3rd one of the 333SP being pulled into the event. It was about 7:30am and I was one of the first people to arrive. They even let me push!

At one point I was talking with Butch Winkle about the f2002 when he showed me how light it was. The car was sans engine, but you could literally push it with one finger no problem. And the tires were so soft you could almost leave a fingerprint indention in them.

Dude... you can't say "many many pics" in the subject of a thread with zero pics!!!

Where's that "This thread's useless without pics!" GIF? :-)

I just got back from the concourso that was held today and man was it a treat. So many great cars it was really unreal.

The cast included Three 333SPs 360 GTs, 360 challenge cars, Breadvan, 330TRi/LM, F50, F40LM, F40s, 2 Enzos, Schumacher's F2002, 288 GTOs, 550s, 355s, 348s, 328s, 308s, Testarossas, 512bbi, just to name a few!

Met some fellow F-chatters (Matt Lamotte, DES, Kelly Vince, Donny Brideges, Paul Wehmer, John Houghtaling, Frank Foster). My apologies if I left anyone else out.

I took around 80 pics, and I know DES went out of control and has well over 200.

One of the coolest parts was showing up early and getting to help load up a 60s NART F1 car on a trailor and bring it to the event.

For the sake of brevity I'll let DES DEScribe the whole thing.

It might take me a day to organize and resize the pics I took, but they will be soon to follow!
