thanks for the info allan. i know often times ebay folks do not sell their cars but put them out there to create some phone or foot traffic for the dealership. was it a dealer and did it sell? is there a way to pull up old auction info?

thanks again af!

that looks like a great drive w/ some really great cars. nice to see when real car guys get together and actually appreciate all the metal... or glass whatever the case may be.

comments/questions...

nice iso!!! a great a car as any pictured at that event!!!

allan and ralph...you two seem to be the ones that noticed the 4 valve carb countach. they are really special cars and i have been looking for one for garage. if you can help me locate one for real money, i would be interested.

jordan, you said if you could find a nice old esprit , you would buy it. you must look outside socal for it as the sun just bakes these cars and leaves little left for you to buy. another point...the lack of rain leaves so much trash and sand on the road, paint is nearly impossible to keep nice. the real great cars are on the east coast.

Looks like a blast. Great to see the season changes. Down here the only thing changing is when another palm frown falls on the roof with a big "clonk".

Andrew:
The 512M had Tubis and had an awesome growl. The Countach was carbureted... it crackled and popped when its pilot let off the gas. Very exciting stuff indeed! I cld tell your dad was having a great time too. LOL

Guys,

Although I caravaned from the North I snapped pix of the meet at Hemmings. We cruised down with the NSX group from Boston.

The scenery couldn't have been nicer.

Anyway, here are my pix: http://nabbs.fbody.com/Running_of_the_Bulls/

I was in the silver 50th Anniversary Corvette Z06.

Yes, Ralph, thats the one to have. But if you want the power of the Euro, just convert yours to EFI and distributorless ignition, and you'll be amazed.

The Sv and the 6.0 would be the fastest. If you were running on the highway, they probably didnt downshift all the way, just enough to get by.

Run any Ferrari's? Any Ferrari run the Lambos? How did the red Countach run? Wish i was there, would of been fun.

Lotus is bone stock...maybe that was it...the lambo did have 2 girls in the passenger seat if weight is a factor but i doubt it....all the diablo's we raced were yellow, so i figure they all pulled about the same. Which model of the diablo is the fastest?

Beats me Rob. Is the Lotus stock? My Sv can put a whole lotta hurting on the Lotus. Maybe driver, didnt downshift. I can outaccelerate my 355 from 80mph with it in 3rd gear and me in 5th.

We ran a bunch of cars in our 2001 Lotus esprit TT...ran with a few different lambo's on the way home resulting in a 128mph speeding ticket flying past a cop full tilt. Time to buy a scanner! anyway allan any reason why the SV didn't pull our lotus very much, i was expecting a thrashing, but he maybe put a car length or two above 140
