Guys, Thanks for the advice. Just figured I'd get lucky finding mechanically sound driver needing paint. Allthough, Dave you do raise a good point, If exterior has'nt been maintained why would mechanicals be any better. Also I came across an 86 for $30k with 57kmiles on it. How much is the 60k service with a waterpump? Vinny

Vinny,

I agree with Dave! Stay away from the 328's that need extensive bodywork. Especially because you are on a tight budget. There is a lot more to Ferrari then just buying one! Maintenance can be a nightmare and cost you a fortune.

Vinny, first off, welcome to the chat list!

I would shy away from a car that needed extensive body or paint work, only because those are the cars that have plenty of other problems as well, usually very EXPENSIVE problems(and wonderful, long winded "stories" from the owner). Any car that the owner cannot maintain the exterior; what would lead you to believe the interior or mechanicals would be any better off? If the budget is tight, look into a 308 instead. Still a great car (had one). Nice ones can be found in the low 30's. Will take some time, but they are out there.

Bottom line, Ferraris are not for tight budgets...cause when it inevitably breaks, you would cry having to see it sit, undriven until the funds are available to put it back on the road. :-)

Welcome to fchat !!!
John Delvac has a black 328GTS for sale, but it sure doesn't need any body or paint work. He posted information on it in the Georgia/Florida/Alabama forum. He is getting a car with more than two seats.
