I have a 94 F348 factory Challenge coming with 12K Miles for under $60K. These are the collector edition x of 32 made. A fair prie for the 348TB with the Miles and 1991 would be $50K. As Ernie said you have to adjust the rpice for service. If you adjust the entire bill ($4500) or part of that is your discretion. Clutch is usually going at that mileage. Make sure to figure that in. You can have the clutch resurfaced if it is not slipping yet. If it is I would have a look in the flywheel to see if that is toast. The flywheel is $ 3500 in parts, a new clutch is running $2K. R&R is about 6hours. You can potentially spend more on the clutch than on the engine out service. other than that...great choice! |

Sure Vincent, whenever you're here let me know. We'll all do dinner, and go for a ride in the Diablo and 355. |

Allan, I've had to put a little money in it, but it runs strong and keeps up on our norcal drives. I'm thinking about going to Hawaii in Feb. if I can get away, how about a ride in the Diablo? Say hi to Alyssa for me, KC is doing good. Vincent. |

Since it has not had the 30k, I wouldn't pay more than $42,000. Unless you do the 30k yourself, you are looking at a service bill of at least $6,000 on top of the $42k giving you a total of $48,000 +/- $1000 depending on if they find more stuff to add to the bill while the engine is out. Also ask about the condition of the clutch. If they say it is okay, get proof. The clutch can run you an additional $2,500 - $6,500 depending on if you need a new flywheel and throw out bearing, on top of the cost of the 30k. I would have the seller take care of those before you get the car, or use them to have the price reduced accordingly. If they aren't willing to negotiate take your business else were. There are plenty of 348's out there to be bought, and at a relatively reasonable price. Don't get hung up on the first one you see. |

arie, i was just in lodi a few weeks back...did not know it was such a wine area!? the 348 tb i have seen w/ similar mileage for high 40's to low 50's. tb's are tougher to find so if your looking for a berlinetta specifically...you may have to spend more. use the ts as a stalking horse and you may get a great deal! hope this helps. pcb |
