According to FNA and numerous authors, it was the fastest regular production car in the world for 11 years.

Ive seen 185 mph on the speedo of myy 86 injected winged Countach maxed out, I know my road 512TR could easily surpass that

That may have been the Countach w/ a wing.

I think it was much faster when it first came out w/out the rear spoiler.

I do remember a July 1987 Road and track showing the TR doing 185mph and the Countach doing 179mph.

Were there other tests that proved otherwise??

1984 when the Testarossa first came out with the 4 valve it can be argued it was the fastest production car. But in 1985 Countach qv beat it!
