Les
Have you ever done Silverstate?
In the 165 tech -150 target I've run the Viper twice a 996 TT once. If you are suggesting I drive your car with the cage installed and you be the Navigator.. Consider it done! I've run it solo before and really don't need a Navigator but it is more fun to share the rush.
Once you you do a run you are hooked!!!
It takes more guts to be a Navigator the way I see it.To me if I'm not in control I'm not comfortable. If you want me to be your Navigator in your car? I'll have to chew on that one awhile!
Plus they won't let you run in the 165 tech the first time out unless you are given an experience waiver(I did it this way my first time out).

Wayne, as Bill Sawyer and Coachi have noted, I have those seats and love them. That being said, I wouldn't spend $8,000 in the aftermarket to get them. I think the suggestion that you go with recaros for the Silverstate and put your original seats back in afterwards makes sense. I went to look at the car you bought for Coachi. Congratulations on your purchase. One more alternative, you could talk me into running my car in the Silverstate and I'd spring for the rollcage!!

I had those seats in my 550 Barchetta. They were wonderful. I have Recaro seats per Porsche, designated as GT-3 seats, for the GT-2. They are just as wonderful, perhaps a little more restrictive once you are in the seat, and not quite as easy to get in and out of, but for the price, they'd be hard to beat. And, they look cool, too.Available in leather, alacantra/leather, etc. To wit, http://www.pca.org/panorama/pano_gallery_403.html

Fixed link. Kind of garish but then it is a Bannana boat eh?
Hugh
Thanks for input I may do something against My own MO...I may just drive the car and not flush any dinero down the toilet for the time it takes for the 360CS to show-up?

wayne: I made seat mounts for my car myself -- not the prettiest, but they work, and gave me the headroom/legroom/etc that I was after.
There's a local porsche fab shop that can make you mounts, and you can use any seat you wish.
Just get a pair of recaro buckets, and have the mounts made, and you'll be well under 1500 total. ( you can get recaro pole positions with side mounts for 550/each -- brand new); the mounts per side should be ~ 150.
Email me , and I'll get you in touch w/ them. They can also fab you a cage, and install it. The build/maintain cup cars, etc.
No reason to pay 8000 for reupholstered sparco tornios w/ carbon backs.
-hubert
edit: recaro pole position seat, not spg.
edit 2: 8500 for a roll cage IS A JOKE!

Ok - let me reiterate. I'd be interested in seeing your interior (which I presume is black with yellow inserts).

Wayne,

a bit O/T, but I'd love to see photos of the interior.

As for the rollcage - I'm still not convinced that it's worth 8500. Too bad the seats are totally the wrong color too.

Coachi is right black with Yellow inserts. Yes it is a Leather wrapped factory setup. The factory 996TT rollcage was not leather wrapped but VERY nice
it was about 1800 and 1300 for install.

Wayne,

What color is your interior? I remember a set of Cuioi or tan seats running around for 4k from one of the UK board members because a customer didn't order. Dunno if they're still available.

The other alternative is to buy Sparco/MOMO seats...

--Dan

PS: 8500 bucks for a roll cage? You *have* to be kidding me?

wayne..i was worried you were in the fires out west...did you just buy that yellow maranello that I was looking at at the Glenside Carstore? Les Brun had one just like it, a 2001 model with those carbon fibre seats..he is a board memeber, and he loves those seats. I have never seen them in person, just in pictures. Hope everything is well with you

Les Brun who hangs out here has the carbon fiber seats in his 550. I drove the car for hours and found them very comfortable.

yes. I kinow about those. FX performance wants $8500 to do factory rollcage. That plus the seats and now I'm over 16k just to run Silverstate in the 165 tech class. Might have to re-think this
one?

Maybe you could just order identical seats directly from the manufacturer for probably half that, and then get them upholstered how you want them.

I have looked for the barchetta carbon fiber seats, but they're $8k for the set, and not the easiest thing to find. You'd have to order them.
