Well, FWIW it is pretty annoying reading about all the cool stuff that the DFW crowd is always putting together! If Houston had its own section I could live in ignorant bliss! :-)

Rob, could you please also create a 'North Dallas' and a 'South Dallas' area? We wouldn't want to have to associate with riff raff. :-)

Sunny,

That's true - maybe it's worth making mention to Rob. Hey, you, yeah you in Texas...you listening?? :-)

Dan, he mentioned it and we talked about it briefly and I think its a wonderful idea. Having an area California specific would go a long way to bring more than one event like that together :-)

I would like to see Southern California renamed California, so we can share more CA specific info (drives, shows, informal get togethers or even formal get togethers ala North meet South...).

I would personally drive North for a drive event. It doesn't even have to be a big one as long as its planned in advance for me to take the day off or plan the weekend. I would drive North in a heartbeat!

SoCal and NorCal have a fair amount of traffic. For the most part it's unrelated. So I think there should be two sections. Don't care if it's at the top level or buried below US ->States -> California level...I will just bookmark it.

If this is not possible, then yeah, let's rename that SoCal section to California.

There should also be a section called "I am laid up so I need someone to drive my Ferrari."

Fair enough - so long as we get represented somehow damnit! This isn't Alabama or something! Aw hell, even THEY have a section! Cmon now! :-)

--Dan

PS: there were no Alabamans hurt in this posting. Whether there should have been is another subject.

Tlllman,

I have no issue with a CA board, but the problem is, right now there is NOTHING for NorCal, just one called 'Southern California' - either make another one for us up north, or make it all of CA.

Wouldn't it be? Go to Fchat and the regional areas are on the front page, and so there'd be two Cal areas. That's just wrong :-)

Now if you all finally manage to secede from the loonies down south.... Call yourself the state of Bob or something, then that'd be OK....

Tillman,

Looking at that car I understand why you're bumnmed!

Nice!

Are we asking to be on the main board?

Vincent.

It doesn't 'bother' me, it just seems like a waste of effort to have two Cal areas in the top level.

And I'm not allowed to have an opinion that differs from y'alls? The question was posed in public, so public response is allowed -- even required

More importantly, I'm stuck with a bum knee and can't go driving, so I have to do something to waste time...

Tillman, we want two areas. Why does this bother you so much?

If you plan activities separately from another region, you can ask for another section. I don't think anybody would care...

I don't understand why you mind so much, as it won't take anything away from the main discussion sections.

And I don't understand why you mind so much when you are not in either Southern or Northern California.

Art,

You would have loved it! The redwoods were awesome. On the way back Dan and I had an agreement: "we'll take it easy". Apparently pulling out in front of a white cherokee with light bars is "easy".

What a drive!

Do we need to help Doug?

Norcal is fine for me, but we'll have to post or face humiliation from Mark.

Rob,

I mentioned SF Bay Area, only because I felt it was the same thing. Honestly, it doesn't matter which you choose, as NorCal will essentially represent the bay area and those few stragglers on the outskirts...

Gee, there's 300 miles between Houston and Dallas, and yet somehow we manage with one area. Houston is marked [HOU] and Dallas is [DFW]. How hard would that be to do for Cal?

Horsefly,
the big board is the main place, for general discussions, etc. Region-specific areas are for planning regional group activities that the wider population would not be interested in.

I think Northern California works, becuase it makes sense next to the Southern California board.

That's my vote...If I get a vote. :-)

Art, It was really too bad that you turned around when you did last Sunday. The road improved so much 5 minutes into the drive.

Rob:

New Board? Where is it? I think most of us would be ok with Northern California, but that's said without any survey so maybe others will say something else.

Geez, I added Northern California to the new board and then someone complained that they wanted it called San Francisco Bay Area. I can't please everyone. :-) What do you want? NC or SF?

Why not have a seperate board for every state, and then break the bigger states down to smaller regions. That way, when you make a posting, there will never be a main category that EVERYONE visits, therefore your posting will never be seen by everyone and the whole concept of a GIGANTIC single meeting place for Ferrari enthusiasts will be completely eroded into a worthless concept.
We will then become like a giant office building, filled with hundreds of people, but each one totally isolated inside their own cubicle.
(of course, while inside that cubicle, they would be logged onto Ferrarichat, but that's another story. I'm getting confused now.)

Check out the Pacific forum in "Other Areas".

A similar question was recently asked there:

Why isn't Nothern California listed seperately?

Lox, behind you 100%, I think it's in the works along with the software upgrade.

Tillman,
we generally do things as a group here in Northern California, and the SoCal crowd has its own events (and section). There's a good 300 miles between the two clusters.

That there needs to be a Northern California Message Board?

It just seems to make sense to me. Who is behind me!?
