Unfortunately the DOT will not allow you to make
many modifications to a vehicle without a complete and costly recertification. The 1960's are over.

This is why there are no GT-3RS or Club Sport models available from Porsche in the USA.

I do not know if Ferrari has racing/sport items
offered to other markets outside the USA, that
are unavailable here.

the car that was used to introduse the two-tone paint was a car that was given to schumacher. there was simply a mentioning of the fact that the car shown was his. it was never a model designation. i have only seen one of these and it was at the factory. the schumacher car had racing seats and many other non-standard options.

so the schumacher edition means two tone paint? seems a bit weak in my opinion. i wonder how much more they can up the price by painting a few cars in a different scheme and putting MS's name on it. i hope there's more to it then just that.

The name of the car is 456M GT Scaglietti.

I recall seeing some unveiling with the 'bicolore' paint.

Sales gimmick. If I were Shumacher, I would have held out and had them put my name on a real car (ie. the 2012 F70).

Bob, Ferrari and Maserati of Orange County (CA) also have (or had) a Schumacher edition in their inventory as recently as 10/13/03 so this special edition is legitimate. I am not sure how many were made or what makes it special though.

Here is a link to their web site http://www.fmsocal.com/ but I don't see it in their current inventory.

Was there ever a Michael Schumacher edition? Or is this just lose talking? If they were made, how many were made, and with what special specifications?
