I'm with David. Paint changes color simply by oxidation and age. I am glad it matched for you guys but that is luck especially since your cars are the years that they are. I have had Ferrari dealers tell me that there are differences in the reds from year to year even though the color is supposed to be the same. They use computer matched paints only. Many good paint stores have computers that can take a pic of your paint and produce it exactly. That's the way I would go and have gone before. Works for me. |

James, I've used the paintscratch touch-up paint and the color they sent me was dead-on. Good stuff. |

If your looking for paint for a newer car you can order by the paint code... If you are trying to match paint for an older car, your best bet is to go to an auto paint shop and have them computer match what you have on the car now, It will be a perfect match that way. They take multi-angle readings from your car to get the paint match as close as possible... Remember paint, especially Red tends to fade after so many years. If you order paint from the internet and it does match on a 20 year old car you will be very very lucky.... |
