Thanks for pointing that out Robert. I HAVE been cranky as hell lately. The only time I saw personalized plates that I really thought were clever, Playboy Magazine had done an article on them when the idea was just catching on in the US.
The story was about obscene plates that had slipped by the DMV. Some were pretty funny.

Yes I do design kitchens, but the plate also refers to the fact that I eat sleep drink ferrari, and some people would rather have a nice kithen as apposed to a nice car. hence MYKTCHN
I have not picked it up yet and I have about eight more months to think about it, but i thought it was nice. Oh by the way Bill or Fred not sure I want your feed back, you guys are cranky

I agree with you Bill. I have seen a lot of gay license plates on all kinds of cars. They make me sick to my stomach! For the love of God, if you cant get anything but a stupid plate, dont get it at all! Who the f*ck cares about your gay ass license plate?

I also agree with Bill on this issue. Not everybody thinks these cutesy plates are clever or funny. Just be happy that you are fortunate enough to own a Ferrari and save the editorials for another setting.

I kind of agree with Bill about putting the name of the car on the plate. I saw a 308gts that had 308 GTS on the plate. About 2 feet to the right it said the same thing on the car. Kind of redundant it seems to me, but really to each his own.

I prefer a simple DMV plate with random numbers and letters on it. The problem with personalized plates is that you are telling the world how very smart you are , or how very stupid you are. Putting the word or derivitive of the make of car on your plate is beyond me. Come on guys, get off your High Horses ( A Ferrari Pun ).
Its kinda like putting 64 Chev on your plate, or Joe's Car. Who in the hell cares!

living in england, the custom plate is harder to come by. you can't just order it, you have to somehow luck-out with some combination of numbers and letters like r055 for example. but people spend insane amounts for these plates (jag 1 went for something like $30k a while back.) all that being said, my all time favorite plate ever was on a decked out range rover seen near sloane square, it simply said 1
as in the very first plate issued in the country ! the only thing cooler than that is the queens roller that carries....no plate at all. doesn't need one i guess......

Greg, I had it made up for me at one of those Kiosks at the mall. I'm sure there are places you can order custom ones off the internet too. I had one made for the Ferrari that says "550 Maranello" but I can't remember who I ordered it from.

HIGHO AG

83 Silver 308QV

AG is Silver in Table of Elements (Argento).

For those that are to young: High-O Silver is what the Lone ranger yelled when his stallion (named Silver) reared up on it's hind legs.

I really like the FSTRNL that someone here had, I'm hesitant though to put anything like that though. I was thinking 1BAD308, ROSSO, 85QV, FERRARI, 4RE308, 4VALVE, etc. I figure if I ever do switch I will just go with something like this and not something that will potentially tempt cops, delinquents, etc. Who was it that knew the guy with TRY IT on his Pcar?

Here in Montana, there is a high profile murder case being prosecuted in Butte Montana. The person in question apparently kidnapped and tortured to death several young boys. The sick bastard then cooked the remains and served them to unsuspecting neighbors, as " special dishes." What struck me as odd, was that in the juror selection, one of the prosecuters asked if any of the jurors had personalized liscence plates! This really struck me as odd. When questioned he stated that you can tell a lot about a person by their personalized plates. I really don't know what that means, but be careful!

First choice'd be the DMV quick-pick, as these cars seem to have a way of speaking for themselves. On the other hand, "FIAT" might be a humble conversation-starter. "NO FIAT" then, would function well as the antithesis. If your goal is to reach a wider audience, then "JUMP ME" might make sense. With this plate, all of the ladies, hoodlums, flatbed drivers and pretty much anyone on a decent dirt bike (or Evel Knievel) would know exactly what you had in mind.

Thank you for all your input and great ideas. I think I'll stick with Tifosi. I'm not going with Tifoso since it would exclude my wife who is a fan as well. I though about "GREED" since my dad had it on his '76 911 when I was a kid. Opted not since it may come across arrogant. Thank you again, Dane

if your an italian soccer fan you could go with azzuri - which will also relate to the color of your car, I like ones with multiple meanings. I have MI VA - which is the first two letters of each of my two kids names - any guesses? it also roughly mean "I go" in italian and it is also a response one would use in italian slang when someone asks you why you bought a ferrari - "because I wanted it"

I also had "Tifosi" on my list, but wanted to carry on my plate tradition if I could.
