I remember when I visited London, and seeing the teenage offspring of oil families driving around in their Lambos. Not drug money, but same kind of attitude.

That is sad to hear that the cars weren't in the best of shape.

Saw a newer 911 coupe last weekend with the back end COVERED in mud... looked like he went off roading. After "closer" inspection, there was about 1.5" of mud caked inside the wheel wells. Too bad. :-(

When i shipped my F car out to the west coast a yr and a half ago, to do some driving on the PCH up near Big Sur, i was fortunate to be there off season, but before the rains came. The hi-way was virtually empty and i had a blast driving back and forth between Carmel and Moro Bay for several days in great weather. Only "dopey" driver i encountered the whole time was somebody who looked like they just left the set of a Cheech & Chong movie; old VW bus, psycho-paint job, of course, surf boards hanging out the back, motoring at about 12 miles per. Guy wouldn't pull over into one of the lay-bys, and just kept on truckin' ahead of me forever. Only thing was, i was so amused by this persona, i just couldn't get frustrated being trapped behind him for a while.

I agree w/Marv B. If you didn't work hard to earn the money to buy something, you most likely won't take care if it.
What a shame, Those poor cars.

Back in the 1980s a friend of mine at FAF(now FOA) said druggies would come in and pay cash for new and used Ferraris. Of course that was before the law that required merchants to notify the IRS of purchases of over $10K made with cash.

I just ended up with new rears from exactly this situation, cords showing on the insidee rear tires. The outside looked like I was less than 1/2 way through the tread. In my case, I think this is an alignment issue. I currently have -2.25 degrees camber at the rear which is close to spec -2.00. I am going to try some less agressive alignments (like about -1.5) and see what front alignments would have to go with this rear alignment to reballance the car in drifts/corners.

Tom, have you checked the alignment? It doesn't sound right to me, to wear down the inside of the tires. 'Course, I'm new to this Ferrari thing...

Tom, I used to live off of Camden Ave exit, loved the Hwy 17 to Santa Cruz drive (as well as Gaudaloupe resevouir to Almaden Res route!)

Ferrari of los Gatos was my home away from home, would eat at Pedro's downtown Los Gatos then head to FoLG...

Not too surprised on the shape of the Ferrari's. It's not like he really earned the money to buy them, so the cars aren't really worth much to him i guess.

Just had to pass this story on.

I had my F355 towed to the tire dealer yesterday. Looks like I wore the inside of my tires down to the cord and didn't really notice it until it was too late. ( No garage queen here) I live in the hills above Los Gatos CA off of the notorious HYY 17. I was a little paranoid about getting a blow out and slamming it into the concrete wall, so hence the tow.

Los Gatos Tow came and picked up my car. ( I can highly recommend them, treated my car with kid gloves) He was telling me that this was his 4th Ferrari today. I ask him what was with the rash of problems. He said there were not problems with the cars other than the DEA just seized the assets of a major drug dealer in Saratoga.(one of the more nicer zip codes in the area). He had 4 houses in Saratoga, 2 F355B's, 1 355 Spyder, 1 360 and Lamborghini Diablo. And on top of that most of the Ferraris were terrible shape. I'm glad the dealer got his just due, but feel sorry for all the miss treated Ferrari's.

Just thought I'd share. Tom

Oh.....and what a difference some tread can make on the handling of your car............ :-)
