MarkG...the guy who broke his screwdriver while trying to get the emblem off you..he might actually try to come after u for the cost of his screwdriver..i know how that sounds but in todays society where criminals fall inside someone's house and sue the owner, anything is possible |

Someone scralled WES in six inch high letters, all the way down to the metal, on the roof of my 77GTB a couple of years ago. I know how you feel. It was in the mall parking lot where my store is located and I only had it there for about an hour, broad daylight. When I called the mall security they said I should know better than to park a car like that in the mall parking lot. Trying to shift the blame I guess. You should be able to drive and park ANYWHERE you want to, but I guess this just isn't reality. There seems to be a lot of envious hostility lately. Used to be that people would say things like "wow nice car" but lately it's more "you rich f....r" . I finally got a removable hood star for my old Mercedes and I never put it on unless I am at a car show. I once had a Mercedes parts manager tell me they would order six dozen hood stars at a time! |

Thanks for all your encouraging posts. Drove to Maranello Motors, Cologne on monday. They will paint over the scratched part at the back and replace the two missing signs. Sadly I have to pay for the repair myself since damages up to 500 Euro are not insured in my case (500 Euros of the damgage have to be paid by myself). Really embarassing but by the way I have some other things repaired so it is just another step to the perfect maintained car for me. Hope your fine cars are never vandalized like that!! Con saluti,Jens |

On another point, it will be fixed perfectly when you're done. A year from now it wont even cross your mind when you look at it. Whoever pulled it off is obviously a POS, but in the end your baby will be perfect again. |

Jens, I really feel for your loos-I cannot believe someone would do that, that is plain F*cking stupid! Please do not change your attitude to all strangers, don't let some a-hole spoil it for the rest that appreciate what a Ferrari stands for. |

Jens, I am not sure what the law is in Germany but here in the US you can go after the insurance of the building that has provided the parking space. Growing up in Germany I can say that this is more of a common thing. The MB star is a common collector item for youngsters. They made some magnetic pop up ones so they come off easy and do not damage the car. Truely a twisted Country, ahhh, yes, this is why I left Don't lose your faith over one Arschloch ! |

Jens - You must get your own, private garage for your ferrari. I have one for mine and I don't let anyone in including my wife (especially my wife). You must protect that fine car. Now get out your hammer, nails & wood & get started! |

This stuff is a real shame. And a trend with our youth. I remember seeing cars like Ferrari and Maserati, and standing back in wonder, not thinking about vandalism. Not having the guts to even touch it because it was obviously special. It's a sad thing! Bill |

I still think they should cut off your hands for something along these lines, or at least one of them. I bet a lot less people would vandalize cars if half their friends had one hand. |

I guess it will be around 200 Euro. But you all know it is not the money I am complaining about(The insurance pays that anyway!). When I did not own a Ferrari I always looked at these cars with a lot of respect because I admire all Ferraris as automobile art. I could never damage such a car and it hurts me to know that there are people who treat other ones property without any respect. Sadly these people seem to live everywhere around me... |

A guy I know just bought a new Lotus V-8 Esprit and since he has a garage like yours, he had a camera hooked up across from his parking space and up in a corner. A sign on his car says "smile you are being watched" Not perfect, but very good idea. |

This exact thing happened to me about a year ago on my red 348 ts. They scratched the deck and bent the rear grill trying to pry off the horse. I feel your pain. |

I am really angry now!!! Just wanted to do a drive in my 348 after a tiring day of work. I am living in a building with a garage for all people who own an appartment there. Besides there are some parking places for a department store. When I came to my car I saw that the chrome ferrari sign at the back and the cavallino sign in front of the car had been removed with a screwdriver. I almost screamed when I saw that and the scratches on the paint. How can people do that to such a car? I guess it was one of those f**cked up ferrari fans who now impresses his shitty girlfriend with the signs. Sorry I am really not fair now but I have to write this to calm down... I am investing a lot of money and (which is much much more important) passion. I love my (first!) Ferrari. It just hurts me to see this! I was always very friendly to all the people who wanted to take a look at my car but now I will probably change my attitude to strangers approaching it. Next thing I will do is to search for a single climated garage for my baby. Hope you do not mind my confusing thoughts but I am deeply disturbed and sad (I am drinking a bottle of good Barolo right now to absorb that!!!).Besides all of that a nice friday evening is definitely ruined. Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller |
