Thanks everyone for your feedback. Geez, you think the insurance will be difficult? Would i be able to insure the car with a foreign drivers license?

I dread to think what short term insurance on that is going to cost you.

Eduardo,
If the 355 has been taken care of it is very reliable.Put 12,000 mi/2yrs and never got stuck.

ahh a 355..i always thought 355's were the best ferrari v8 spyders... they are very reliable if they are maintained..i would look into getting a high milage 355..maybe like 5k miles per year?

Anyways good luck..god id love to tour europe..espiecally in a 355..let us now what you decide on

Eduardo:

I wouldn't worry about it for reliability, if you get one that is in good condition with the service done. I suggest you get one that needs the service, and get it done before you start touring, that way you'll know that it works. The tire mileage is low. I get about 10k per set of rears, and they don't have spares. I suggest you start with fresh tires also. They are loud with tire noise, but that is half the fun.

I would not worry about the car been able to handle that and more. I know my TR can handle a lot more abuse than that, and it is supposed to be less reliable than the 355 (although, she is yet to disappoint me). I would be more worried with the maintenance that the car has received, or lack thereof. That is what truly makes the difference with these cars.

Can it handle multiple 200 mile trips without one worrying about breaking down and leaving you stranded? How is the tire/road noise?
I'm going to europe for 6 months and i'm thinking of buying one for touring western europe.
I apreciate all comments.
Thank you,
