I'm not a boater, so I guess I would be part of the problem. Buut I'd prefer to only be a danger to myself and am not inserested in the rowdiness et al. Luke. |

Go to the North end (above Gainesville Marina) for safety & serenity - and get there early. As for danger, I think that's over stated. It used to get a bit roudy South of LL Islands before BUI enforcement. I will advise not to be in a boat smaller than 18'-20' South of Brown's Bridge Rd (GA369) for your own piece of mind. This especially goes for boats with low gunwalls like a Ski Nautique, or if you have small children or a bow-riding dog. This mostly counts on Memorial Day, 4th of July, etc. However, if you intend to be part of the problem and become one of those wake-jumping, wave-runner mosquitos, the South end is definitly for you. |

I want to go to Lanier this weekend (I've lived here 5 years and have never been) and rent a jet ski but I hear it can be crowded and dangerous, is that true? Are there quiet beaches? Luke. |
