Not *that* much, not in my opinion. Of course, he said that my VW won't require as much work as a Ferrari and the price reflected it. I'll let him quote specifics. Luke. |

John, thanks for the info on Zaino. I have a freind who swears by the stuff and was trying to get me started on it. You're right, he spends an enormous amount of time applying the stuff. I'm going to stick with the old tried and true method. I've been waxing my painted wheels for some time and it sure helps! If you still have Zaino stuff left over, he might want to buy it. Do you want me to ask? You can PM me with details if you like. Thanks |

Vince - Zaino is what I use on all of my cars. In my opinion, there are no better optics than with Zaino and it repels dust. Warning - do not use on a non-perfect car as the magnifying power of this product will make minor imperfections jump out. It also goes on and off very easy and lasts 6 months to a year without doing more than washing. You MUST spend the money for the accelerator catalyst instead of using Z1. It is the only way to go. But, it cost a ton. Your first Zaino order will be about $75. The further down side is that you have to use their version of the "quick detailer" spray between every applications/coats. Read the info carefully - you need 6 coats! This "detailing" product could use work, as it is not nearly as easy to use as the McGuires Professional stuff. It leaves "streaks" and requires the car to be washed after waxing. So, in my lazyness, I have stopped using the product even after buying $100s of $$ of stuff. The picture in my profile is after clay bar, 2 coats of Z5, 6 coats of Z3 and a layer if Z7 "detailer" inbetween (required of system). A year later & it looks like it could use 1 more coat. Now, with that being said, I know of no car with paint as good as Brian's. He uses several different products he has shared with me, and his mixture is superior. He can get just as good of a look from 2 products in 2 coats as I did in 7 days worth of coating my car. The product he uses also eliminates minor water spots & scratches (not just swirls). The down side is that the natural carnuba products don't last real long. So it's more routine upkeep, where with the Zaino you work for a week without being able to drive, then you don't touch it again for a year. Some of you guys (not naming names) can afford to spend the money to have it done right. If you are one of them, leave your car with Brian for a few days. He is the pickiest SOB I've ever met. Now, that's Ferrari show-car talk. I also applied Zaino with just 1 coat on our SUV 2 years ago and it still looks awsome! On my daily driver MB300E, I also put 1 coat of Zaino on a year ago, but without the Z1 or accellerator/catalyst. It did fantastic, but lasted only 6 months before needing more (which it needs desparately). As compared to regular wax for daily driver use every 6 months, Zaino beats all - hands down (except for price). The bigest difference I've seen is when you put Z2 (non-clear coat wax) on your wheels. MAN! You will be amazed, and the break dust does not stick as well. Yes, it's true. So, I wax the inside fo my wheels too. They clean up so much easier. Final comment - Zaino is permanant! Dish washing soap & clay bar will not remove Zaino. The only way I have found to get rid of it is to drive your car everyday with dirt and grime on it, and leave it outside 100% of the time(I'm serious). If you can afford to take your car to Brian twice a year, you will be better off than doing Zaino by yourself. Especially if your time is valuable to you. I spent 18 freakin hours putting Zaino on my 328!!! The results were great. But, now I'm totally unmotivated to go put on even one coat. If I had to do it over again, I'd have stuck with yellow wax #26 and just done it more often. |

Vince: I didn't mean to suggest that Bo is not good at what he does. Its just that Detailing is not his primary business. Brian and I have spent countless weekends trying various products. His wax is very, very expensive, his leather treatment is the best I have personally seen and most importantly his work ethic and attention to detail is beyond reproach. I guess I would say he is the "Bo Pirkle of Detailing"! Regards, Mark |

Mark, I may be thinking of the wrong person, but I thought Brian was asking questions of the people who work at Bo's One can't improve oneself unless they also check out and compare what others are doing, too. Everybody wins. |

Taking notes at Bo's!? Hardly. Brian and I have spent alot of time over the last couple of years experimenting with various products. Brian is meticulous, in keeping with his engineering mentality. Believe me, he does OUTSTANDING work. My 550 looked so much better when he was finished than when he began, it was amazing. He uses only the highest grade materials and spends hours upon hours doing the work. He charges a bit more than most, but in this case you really do get what you pay for.

Hi Luke, let me be the first to recommend Brian Strasburg. He is a remarkable detailer, you should see his cars. By all means, try his services. Its worth every penny. Email him: [email protected] He is located in Duluth. We are buying a concours winning Mondial Cabriolet for my father, and Brian is going to keep it concours ready. |

I'm looking for a detailer here in Atlanta that shares my OCD but, unlike me, has a great deal of patience. I love cars, but hate washing and waxing 'me. I just do. Preferred locations: Downtown, in-town, East-Side, or South-Side Any help is very much appreciated! Luke. |
