In a surprise announcement Ferrari North America named an unknown cyber-squatter from New Jersey as Vice President of Communications effective immediately. According to Luca Di Montezemolo, "Since Mr. DES burst on the scene Internet awareness of the Ferrari brand has skyrocketed. He has literally flooded dozens of chat rooms with Ferrari questions, stories, and comments. When we learned that Mr. DES was about to lose his job for spending 7-3/4 hours of an 8 hour working day in Internet chat rooms we realized that we couldn't afford to lose him. "We have set him up with a state-of-the-art computerized office in our North American headquarters complete with multiple computers, plasma screens and a half dozen T-1 lines.
