Somehow, someway, Wayne... That's appropriately fitting for the whole situation... An ironicly miniscule yet ever-looming detail that only those in the know would pick up...

The other problem with that photo is that Michelle's wearing a "Ferrari" shirt.

Wayne, only problem with that picture is that you and Mrs. Ausbrooks are blocking J6...! :-)

Oh yes, I have to give credit where credit is due. The last B&W pic with J6 was taken by Mr James Glickenhaus.

Wayne, very cool... i was wondering how Mrs. Ausbrooks got into that car... The black and whites, whether purposely or not, came out very cool, too...

Mark, LMAO...! i was just looking at that picture, wondering why the hell the guy behind the car so closely resembled Saddam, then i looked at the name of the poster...!

PDX strikes again...!

We took two cameras, one we loaded with color film and the other with B&W. I had problems with the camera that had the color film all weekend and most of the photos didn't come out very well.

The red car is, of course, a 250 GT California Spyder. The yellow car is "Old Yeller II" (or "Ol' Yaller II"). http://www.tamsoldracecarsite.net/MaxBalchowsky4.html The owner was very cool and offered to let Michelle sit in the car while he and I chatted about its history.

Wayne, awesome pictures - were they taken with two different cameras or did you decide you wanted some in black and white and some in color...? The first few with your wife in black and white overlooking the water with the buildings off to the right look great; an air of mystery about them... Very nice...

What are the cars in the pictures towards the bottom of the post...? Especially the red one... Very, very nice... Looks like you had a great time...

I don't know which is rarer to capture on film, Mr Ausbrooks or J6.

After attending Monterey every year (except in '94) since 1992, this past weekend turned out to be the best so far! I met A TON of fascinating people:

Gerald & Carol Roush
Jim Glikenhaus & Family
Bill "Glassman"
Jon Shirley
Jay Leno
Jackie Stewart
Sterling Moss
Wayne Obry
Marcel Massini
and on and on...

I had the opportunity to speak with several owners of various important Ferraris as well as the F-chatters mentioned above and several members of another Ferrari-related message group that I participate in. This was also the first year that I personally knew three Pebble Beach entrants (only two were being judged) so I actually had someone to root for. The two that were being judged each took home 3rd place trophies in their repective categories.

All in all, it was a lot of fun. It was also the first year that my wife Michelle has attended and her first time in Monterey. She had a blast and was able to get her picture taken with Jay Leno as well as collecting a few autographs.

Anyway, the photos should have been developed today, so I'll post them as soon as I can. I was having camera difficulties all weekend, so I hope they came out all right!

Mark's right. Excellence is the sister mag to Forza and it's a Porsche mag.

As I said before, this is very good stuff! You should approach one of the magazines to publish this one.

Testarossa, Testarossa...

Her potion; sordid and potent.
Forged is this opus, gorgeous in motion.
The sort of commotion that forms
when swarms of convulsions are warm
and orders are spoken, borders are broken
through hordes of emotion.

Testarossa, Testarossa...

Fleeing, we sought roads;
seeing we lost those
in the rearview, a clear view
and a screaming exhaust note
had me dreaming,
speeding thoughts so seething,
air breathing through taut nose.

Testarossa, Testarossa...

Bending with curves.
Sending the verve to nerve endings; a purge
was the never-ending with her.
Sensing the swerve, gently, we were
intensely a blur.

Testarossa, Testarossa.
Get the most of extra closeness;
test the roads with sex in doses;
dressed in prose addressed to focus,
say it twice, Testarossas.
