Dremeltool is my weapon of choice for all hardware mods where you need to cut, sever and sand.

A new windshield I would make that out of either an existing one from another car (kitbashing) or make one from scratch out of clear plastic you can get at the local hobby store.

I bought a finished Pininfarina Rosso model from Cavallinomodels and the model builder there used some basic clear plastic, that he/she cut into the right form etc. I'll use a similar approach currently for my mods to make a F50 into a F50 GT.

Good luck and post the results pls!

It looks like you can give me some advice. I'm building 1:24 plastic models, and want to convert some. For example a 360 spider into a 360 barchetta. But also others. I need tips like how do I lower the car, and for the barchetta, how do I make my own plastic wind shield? Many thanks in advance

Thanks Mitchel. See my other post re the QV, I bet it will happen one day by itself. I wouldn't have even started my Stradale conversion if I had known at the time, that a finished version will become avail eventually. A finished version is always better than what I hack together.

WOW Andreas, you are incredible!! Perhaps you can build me a 308 QV out of a carbed Kyosho 308? Don't I wish! You are very creative!

Below are four shots of my newly converted 360. The pictures are based on the shots of the real car in the last issue of Forza (August 2003):

I started out with a red 360 from Burago. I kept the tires, but used the wheel from a donor 360 Challenge. They needed some serious sanding down to accept the rubber of the street 360. Brakes had to swapped out too at that time.

The infamous strip was done on the PC (designed with Paintshop and printed via a color laser onto self adhesive paper). Same goes for the S/F shields.

Since the Burago 360 unfortunately uses glue (plus screws) to keep it together I didn't disassemble the car for interior painting and had to work through the open door redoing the black/tan interior into the black/red one.

Two 360 Challenge donor cars had to give their seats, which needed another paint job to fit the red/black carbon scheme. The cavallo rampante seat belt buckles were again done on the PC.

The engine compartment only needed some smaller tweaks in paint and the two additional bars (painted).

The rear required another black paint job around the tail lights etc. Not too big of a job after the GT conversion...

The doors needed some extra attention since the Stradale comes with or without racing windows. I preferred the racing look (as shown in Forza) and hence used the windows from the donor cars. However the 360 Challenge cars are from Mattel, so the door interiors don't really fit. Some glue and green putty (the model equivalent of Bondo) made them eventually fit.

Of course you can save yourself a lot of time (and even some bucks) by simply ordering the finished product from Cavallino motors. But hey, what fun would that be for a true modeller...
