And then there is Fangio of course....

Here on an autographed photo, Sebring 12 Hours 1956, which he won with teammate Castellotti in an 860 Monza.

I had my helmet signed in 1992 by Gendebien-Chinetti-Swaters-Hill Ph.-Dieudonn-P. Frere-andruet that is a great item, and won't sell it, because like some already told, you get it on a special moment.
I bought also a special t-shirt on ebay, from the Monaco 1977 Grand prix, where a Pit-girl let the drivers sign her shirt on several...places.
It is signed by Hunt-Peterson-Brambilla-Laffite-Nilsson-Merzario and Mass.
And yes it is the original one, because the seller was : the pit-girl from 26 years ago.....
Some Ferrari personnalitys can be contacted on their internet site by email, sometimes you get respons.
And my preference goes to write them a letter, sending pictures and asking to sign them inscribed to me....
When you get an envelop in the morning by post, your day cant get wrong anymore.
greeting, vincentUpload

For me it is not the 'proof' that counts most. I am only interested when I saw them, cause it has special value to me. I will always regret not asking Stirling Moss for one when I had the change, but I won't buy one which you can find on Ebay. I won't sell either of them either, maybe when I have more of them, but I think not. I have several autographs of Jan Lammers and Jos Verstappen, but they all have there own story how you got to get them :-)

Same goes for pictures. I only want the ones I took myself, and then I have enough already :-)

Yeah, all this stuff is all about provenance. No better proof than when you're actually there while they sign your stuff. Whenever I can I try to take a picture of the signing moment, so I have some 'proof'.

Same here as Waldo. I only collect them if I see them! I got the Scheckter one too (Waldo do you remember?!) and recently the one of Lauda and Ickx. I have an autograph of Ralf Schumacher from his F3 time and most of the Dutch aces as well (Verstappen, Lammers, Luyendijk, Euser, Bleekemolen, Huisman and Albers) and many other DTM drivers (Aiello, Maylander, Winkelhock, Schneider etc.) Hope to 'score' the ones of Alesi and Wendlinger next time the DTM will be in Holland.

Jack, you'll get me in trouble! I'm supposed to be working and I have been spending far too long looking at your site.
Here's something that may interest you. My wife is selling some Ascari goggles on behalf of a friend. A really nice piece, but I think the price is a little steep!

Wow...a signature of Enzo...that's lovely! I don't have many signatures...don't collect them eighter really, but the few I do have...yeah...I do find it funny to own! I've got one of Jody Scheckter (signed in 1997 at Coys Historic Festival...when he was still the last Ferrari driver that became WC) and one of Rene Arnoux. I good have one of the first GP for Ferrari winnar Froilan Gonzalez (who drove there in his 'own' Ferrari 375) but then I had to wait so long...I skipped :-( I'm sorry about that now!
Further I have a signature of Jos Verstappen...no Ferrari driver yet (and ever I think :-) but Hollands best F1 driver ever!

A signed Gilles? Way cool!

A lesson I learned over the years is to collect everybody's sig, even if my focus is on Ferrari. Eventually somebody becomes a Ferrari driver or has been and I just didn't know about.

So I got Massa's sig while he was driving for Sauber and there was not much hoopla about him.

Probably my earliest sig is from Emerson Fittipaldi. Just after he became F1 WC he had to do a promo stint at our local gas station in Switzerland. Poor Emmo. Seven year old Andreas walked up to him with a big coffee table book about cars and got his sig. Some photographer thought this was so cute, they shot a picture and put it in the newspaper. Prized possession.

Another story involves my fake press pass: When I got lucky and got pit access during practice at the German GP I had nothing suitable with me for them to sign on. Only my fake press pass. So I had Mansell and Arnoux sign on it. They looked at it curiously, thinking I'm trying to pull a cheap one

Like Andreas I collect Ferrari driver signatures but my most cherished one is a signed photo of Gilles Villeneuve.

I collect mostly F1 presskits from the different teams from any year. I have quite a few Ferrari, Jordan, Bar, Ligier, McLaren, Williams, etc..

I have a program from the '67 Watkins Glen GP signed by Clark, Hill and Colin Chapman. It's pretty cool because Lotus finished 1-2 in the race. Another of my favorites is a '96 Monaco GP poster (actually picked it up that year) signed by JV, Schumi, Damon Hill and Hakkinen. Every champion from '94 and counting. DC signed it too, so part of me has hoped that he'd win it one year...

I've also picked up a few of Randy Owens pieces over the years. Anyone else?

Always on the hunt for sigs of former Ferrari drivers. In Goodwood I got Phil Hill, Jacky Ickx, Rene Arnoux and David Franklin.

I'm such a snob, that I let go of the opportunity to get Fangio Jr. and Jim Hall (Chapparal). Also didn't bother Derek Bell, already got his.

With my newly acquired Schumacher helmet, he is next on my list.

Getting Phil Hill's was by the way an opportunity fate owed me: I missed him in Maranello earlier this year, where he ate basically at the table next to me and I didn't reckognize him. But that won't happen again.

Other than the Enzo thread, I haven't seen too many people talk about autographs. What interesting items or signatures do people have/collect? Mine would be original Monaco posters and World Champion signatures.
