Funny story: I had a bunch of old posters I was going to toss out. I figured I'd try them out on eBay for the hell of it. One was an official poster from the '82 Long Beach GP, which I listed with a reserve (only about $5). Another was a Marlboro handout from the '84 Detroit GP, no reserve, starting at $.01. Nobody touched the LBGP item, while the Detroit piece ended up selling for almost $60! I relisted the LBGP with no reserve, and it sold for a little over $40.

I find stuff all the time, not just Ferrari stuff either. I bought a Bieffe helmet on ebay, some Nomex schumacher Fila driving shoes, and I'm currently watching a 3 layer nomex race suit. All for well under the store price.

Then again I also sell my restoration decals on ebay and other odds and ends. I sold a set of 308 transfer gears last week and I sold some Cadillac stuff I had lying around. I'm waiting until next week to put a great looking 308 2V injected exhaust on.

Yes and no. I grew a little tired myself of it, but then again you can still find some gems. Last one I did on the US ebay was the Drogo Ferrari.

Buick stuff--I love it. Sounds like a lucrative little niche there, Andreas! Actually, I've grown a little tired of eBay. Over the years it has become overrun with people all selling the same things, either scale cars (which you guys collect, but I never have) or crappy bootleg F1 gear from Indonesia. The time it takes to wade through all the junk doesn't seem to turn up any "gems" any more.

BTW: I have discovered ebay Germany. Obviously you need to be able to understand German (which I do) and you need a local person who can pay/receive the stuff (I have that as well). But then there seems to be no limit: They got tons and tons of stuff re: Ferrari for very low prices. E.g. 1/18 models we pay 30 to 50 bucks for you can get at half the price. Oh well, you have to get them here...Ok, but for other, smaller stuff it is neat.

Anyway, just wanted to bring this up in case some of you make friends with say a Fchatter from Germany. BTW: To pay my friend the favor back, I'm ebaying in the States for Buick stuff he needs for his car.

Ramon, I've thought of this myself. Fortunately I know most of the peoples user names on ebay who are also here. I've stopped bidding a few times when I saw that it was a fellow Fchater, they have also stopped bidding on some of the stuff I wanted.
