Ferrari open first official shop

The Ferrari Store, the first official Ferrari shop in the world, has opened in Maranello, Italy opposite the company's historic main entrance.
The store will exclusively offer the full range of original Ferrari products, including F1 memorabilia, clothing, leather goods and high quality time pieces, plus scale models, toys and sports goods. Apart from a place to buy, Ferrari hope the store will become a meeting point for all their fans and enthusiasts from around the world.

Technology and reminders of past successes mean that visitors can immerse themselves in the most exciting moments of the company's history. Walking into the sales area, visitors are immediately confronted with last year's FIA Formula One World Championship winning F2001, as well as an exact reconstruction of a pit stop area, with actual parts and equipment used in Grands Prix.

Also on display are parts of Ferrari's Granturismo cars, including the ground effect floor off a 360 Modena and an engine from a 550 Maranello.

The store is kitted out with a new audiovisual system produced specially for Ferrari, which uses a unique automatically controlled mix of sound and vision, known as MBVA (Mid-Based Video Automation.) Visitors will have their senses assaulted with a variety of audiovisual effects that create the impression of actually being at a race track.

The Ferrari Store will have its official opening on the eve of the San Marino Grand Prix in April, in the presence of team drivers Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello.
