Also notiication to other related organizations or mailing lists you may know or be a member of. WHAT: A Drive, Car Show and Raffle benefiting two of the area's lesser known charitable organizations, the Hope Shelter for abused families and Familiar Footsteps for challenged adults. WHEN: Saturday, June 2, 2001 -- 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Detailed schedule below WHO: Participation by any and all D/FW Area Specialty Car Clubs. Sponsored by the Maverick Region, Porsche Club of America. Scrutineering open to the public. Come see some of the best-looking and most exciting cars in the Southwest! Come vote for your favorite cars. We've already got (in no particular order) Porsches, Corvettes. Cobras, Mercedes, Miatas, Thunderbirds, Vipers, MGs, Austins, Triumphs. Lotus, Mustangs, MR2s, Jags, S2000s and Xterras. Don't be left out! (Where's our Ferraris and NSXs and *your* favorite marque?) WHERE: The event will begin at Six Flags Mall, Arlington, Texas in the Sears parking Lot. The lunch stop is at the famous Texas Motor Speedway, with an exterior photo op. The final destination and awards will be at Grapevine Mills Mall, Grapevine. HOW: Each participating car club is asked to have one representative point of contact with the PCA Maverick Region One Lap Committee. Each club is asked to provide 2 (minimum) volunteer workers for grid parking and coordination on the day of the event. We request that these volunteers attend a meeting with the One Lap Committee on Monday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m. Contact us for details. Pre-registration will close on Wednesday, May 23rd. Your club should turn in registration forms and fees on Thursday, May 24th. Parking areas and parade order will be assigned May 26 with provisions for: Yes, walk-ins will be accepted, to some point. A People's Choice Contest will take place from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. The public, as well as participants, will vote for their favorite car(s) by donations. The donation votes will be collected at each car on display in vote buckets. Individual and Club awards will be given at the end of day Award Ceremony.
