I peddle wireless devices you stick in your laptop or stick against your ear while driving 85 MPH in a 55 while adjusting the CD player and chewing on your burger while trying to load the DVD in the rear player so the kids will settle down. No Ferrari yet, just talk about it amongst everyone I know until they get sick of me.....I'm calculating how many more "devices" I have to peddle in order to get at least a nice 308.

I'm the CEO, and (janitor!), of my own company that does... neat stuff! Of all kinds (Everything from Interior and Home Theatre automation and design, to aerospace contracting, to feature film and music video visual effects.

Find a way to get paid to do the stuff you'd pay to do for fun anyway, live for today planning for tommorow, and love like it's going out of style.

That's my formula for happiness!
(so far, so good. 21 and loving it.)

Best!
Ben.

By night i go to one of the local bars and drop alot of the money i made that day. (its good not to have bills to pay? what the hell am i gonna do when im on my own in....oh crap, one month:-)"

Retired from dentistry at 39. Now run a holding company which owns insurance companies, HMOs, administrative service companies, dental practices, a restaurant, a club, and a consulting company. Good $$ but no life. Ready to sell and retire.

Came to this country 42 years ago with 100 dollars in my pocket..worked my way through college (have a Ph. D. in chemistry). Started coaching soccer at university, opened retail store, ran summer soccer camps, invested frugally, bought my first Ferrari in the early 80's. I now run two retail establishments and can tell you you don't make money overnight. Hard work, being at the right place at the right time and 70 hour weeks. Isn't America the land of opportunity. I have some photos of my Ferraris posted URL www.tigersports.com/ferrari.htm and will post photos of my two daytonas tomorrow hopefully

Yep Jim,

But I missed the whole IT boom/bust

I like my business because when wireless gets slow I move into medical. Did the same when automotive slows down from time to time. I supply ME's and EE's so I don't really have to stay with one industry.

I am two-parts brain salesman, one part detective, and mostly a technology voyeur, that can't get enough of new bleeding edge technology.

I work for Medical, Wireless, Electronic and Auto industries finding that "Cracker Jack" engineer they've been looking for, to build the next gadget that will hit the shelves 3 years down the road.

Jim,
if what you do pays $5/h then you are looking at flipping burgers at McD. Not that there is anything wrong with that. If that is what you want then pay is secondary. From that job though you have the greatest chances to become rich as well!

Many franchise owners started working in the kitchen of McD and then became a manager and then bought their first franchise then a second and the next thing you know you buy your F50 to park it in your $5.0 M villa.

Do what you like to do because that will accellerate you to be the best in what you do. The sky is the limit from there.

Wealth does not come over night. If it did it usually does not last long. A engineer has studied long and then worked their butts off to first just pay the rent. Being good comes from dedication to your work. Money follows those who are good.

My profession:

Motivational Speaker

no really, I am not even sure what I do. Commercial Real Estate, Management, and my hobby car dealership with Ferraris only!

I think what we non ferrari owners are really wanting to know is how did you get where you are? Did you start from scratch? Did somebody bankroll you? Did you know what you were doing?

You know the saying "do what you love and the money will follow"....well everything I love pays $5/hr.
