TRX tires are the same size front and back for the 308i series, 220/55VR390. The front and rear TRX wheels are also the same size, front and back. A spare will fit either end but doesn't fit too will in the storage area of my 78 308.

Late model QV wheels were the first to have different sizes front and back. The front wheels were 16 x 7 and the rears were 16 x 8.

I have used Coker for many tires on my collector pieces in the past. Never had a problem and the tires were always like new and not aged.

Peter,

Michelin has a Vintage Tire Division which manufactures these tires. Visit their website for details at:

http://www.michelin.com

Coker is a large and reputable distributor. Inquire as to the date of manufacture of their TRX stock on hand.

I purchased a set of XWXs from them in April. I received my order within the week.

Barry

Good! Guess it boils down to what shipping method I use. I have been waiting for months for my rear TRXs to show up. Sick of waiting for the local shop to get them for me.

That's right. Tirerack has the front but not the back. But, I am checking with them anyway. May get lucky.

How long did take for the tires from Coker to arrive after you ordered them?

yeah they get the size for the front (i think) occassionally - ask them for when they expect them in as they are normally $50 USD cheaper than coker. The other size (back I think)I have never seen them have and I just get them from coker. I may have my fronts and backs mixed up

Thanks Tom! I am also asking Tirerack, though I don't think they have the size I am looking for.

yes they are pretty much the only source they are pretty good but expensive. You can find independants with them but they could be old rubber. That said occasionally tirerack gets some trx tires in and the price is much better than coker. Avon also makes a metric tire

I am thinking of ordering some TRX tires from Coker. I heard that they bought the TRX tire molds from Michelin and are making the tires themselves. Is that true? Has anyone here bought tires from them? How's the service and quality of merchandise? Thanks!
