Oh yeah, the Z's came with a 1yr/12,000mi warranty. I guess we're assuming the same for the Ferraris, huh? |

I wouldn't personally but I think it would go over well. If the option was a $160K 360 or a $70K 308 I would take the 308 still. Now I wouldn't pay $70K for a 308 but I like considerably it more than the 360. Finding an exc. 308 is very difficult these days. I was looking for another one and couldn't find many that were even in good cond. However the owner would advertise them as New cond. or best around. Not a bad idea. |

I put 18k in my 78gtb since April this year. I'd take 30k and would pay as much as 33k for it. I think I would buy one but not for no more than 40k.With a 3 year 36k warranty???? |

I was working at the nation's largest Nissan dealer at the time. We were even selling the cars for $10K-$15K over the $30K list price. We sold more of the refurbished Z's than any other dealer and I can tell you that most were bought by speculators who thought that those specific cars would be future collectibles due to their "factory" restorations. In reality, they were restored by a shop here in So Cal per the factory's specifications. I've seen a couple of them cross the auction block in Sports Car Market but have yet to see one reach reserve. The sad reality is that no one cares enough about Nissans to make a difference and those cars can not be driven without immediately detracting from what little value they hold. Ferrari is a different story. Anything the factory does is considered sacred. A limited series (there were 100 240z's) of true factory rebuilds would probably have some collector value. Would I personally spend $60K-$75K for one? No. I would rather spend that money on something I could drive and enjoy. |

I have a fully restored 308 that I would gladly take $35,000 for. If all you people are wanting one, here's your chance. |

Nissan's lineup at the time didn't have anything with the allure of the original Z in it to compensate. I don't think anyone here would say that a 308 is cooler than a 360 even if brought up to modern standards. And at 7 times MSRP, what would a 308 cost? $250,000? What would be the point? Interesting note, my ex wife (note that she's now my EX) made me sell my 1972 240Z which had 40,000 original miles and had an interior which still looked (and smelled) factory new. It only needed some minor cosmetic touch ups to be 100% concours perfect. It was bought by a guy who shipped it to Japan... Want to guess what happened to it? At least I know it hasn't had a 350 dropped into it and louvers put on the back window. I take some comfort in that. |

No, I wouldn't. Actually they were 240Zs, and $30k was about seven times the original MSRP of that model when it was new. |

A few years back Nissan took a number of 280Z and rebuilt them and sold them "all" for $30,000.. They even had a long waiting list. If Ferrari took a hand full of ratty 308's or 308 gtb4, (I choose these for their current values) and rebuilt them from the ground up to new car standards, would you pay an inflated value to own one? If you want a dollar value, lets say $60,000 for the 308gt4 and for 308 a value of $75,000. |
